President Obama Going Camping

Apparently the President is going to be on an episode of Bear Grylls' show on NBC sometime this fall. Link.

Obama is in Alaska on an official tour, mostly aimed at highlighting the effects of global warming and native American issues. But he also went off with Grylls (and no doubt a dozen or so Secret Service agents) for some "wild time."

Personally, I like this kind of thing. Regardless of politics or party or whatever, I like to see my Presidents engaging like this. Brings 'em down to earth, makes 'em seem more human.

Hopefully a bear will eat him.

Hopefully he'll get eaten by a bear. A real bear.

Can you imagine what Black Lives Matter would do? A harsh condemnation of those racist bears. Even a black bear might not escape their wrath.

If I were president I would order the space shuttle orbiter Enterprise modified and upgraded to be capable of an orbital mission including one of those proposed extended flight packages giving it the capability of staying in orbit up to 60 days.

Well, assuming in my fantastical world I become President of the United States, then it will happen while I'm visiting. What are they going to do, stop me? I'll have diplomatic immunity, like that guy from Lethal Weapon 3. They don't shoot you for pissing off of towers, though, so they'll issue a sternly worded letter, which I will ignore. Then, in a gesture of good will, I will send them several of our best cheeses, which will trigger World War III.

Really? I lived in Alaska for a year and a half. I saw bears eyeball-to-eyeball. Never saw a cop shoot a black man (or 1/2 black in this case) though. Perhaps you are wrong.

Apparently some people think Jefferson was autistic. The problem is that the vaguely autism-like characteristics he is said to have exhibited are also part of the normal variation of human personalities.

By the reasoning described in the article I just linked (which the author himself doesn't necessarily buy), everyone who's ever been shy, had a temper or been passionate about a hobby could be considered autistic.

I have never seen a cop shoot a black man either, but I am pretty sure it has happened. Perhaps from that view in Alaska you could see russia and the rest of the world so that your omnipotent vision means something, but i would imagine that even if you did have a view of the whole planet your eyesight would not be good enough to the little people shooting each other.

Joke being a joke i am sure american cops have about as much chance of pulling Obama over for DWB as a bear is likely to get within a mile of the campsite without being taken down by a hail of gunfire. I would have appreciated the humor of any president getting killed by a bear while camping if it was not for the thought of the VP coming into power. The last president to almost get assasinated was also the last one which had a VP that was not FUBAR. There was Danny Quayle who was 1980s level political idiot (He would probably be the pride of the republican party today if they let him in). Gore was and is a poorly designed AI robot. Dick Cheney was pure evil incarnate. Biden is the drunk uncle no one lets near anything valuable. I may have hated Bush Jr, but unless his death involved wiping out Cheney also I was glad he remained alive. He may have been dumb as a stump, but I cannot say he was racist or really sexist. I am not even sure if he was actually homophobic or just following everyone else's lead so he wasn't laughed at. There are times with Obama that I wish he would get taken out by the honkey nation he cowers to.

Actually, he'll be the first President to visit above the arctic circle, and is going there specifically to view impacts of anthropogenic climate change.

There's also the question of all the resources in the arctic region that will be opened up as the ice continues to melt.

The problem is despite putting forward an international treaty on the Law of the Sea, the US because of its inherent backwardness on the matter of the UN wouldn't ratify it.

So we have no legal standing to put forward claims on mineral rights in the arctic circle, and have almost no ice breakers and are far behind the Russians, Canada and Norway in terms of both legal standing in the international community and the capability to enforce any claims that we would make.

Really? Dan Quayle did just fine when he was in charge while President Bush was having surgery. This was during the coup attempt against President Aquino in the Philippines. Quayle ordered aircraft from the U.S.S. Enterprise and fighters from Clark Air Base to provide air cover for Aquino's forces while they regrouped. Aquino's forces successfully reformed and put down the coup attempt.

I was about to say that only you would be stupid enough to defend dan quayle, but then I remembered we have @Federal Farmer, @Captain X, @Faceman, and the dim bulb floating around along with some other too small to mention people. I guess he would be considered a decent candidate considering the clown car you have today.
