Greed and corruption cannot be the deciding factor between the two, because there's little distinction between the two on that point. One example http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/12/nyregion/donald-trump-atlantic-city.html?_r=1 So if you constrain yourself to only those two, you can debate whether one is marginally more corrupt than the other, as if such is measured by degrees, but lets keep in mind that one of the is a tin-plated overbearing would-be dictator with delusions of godhood and he should never be given any real power.
That's not corruption, that's smart business. That's Trump maximizing his options, whereas Hillary made $2 Billion selling US foreign policy to the highest bidder - to herself - for something she never owned, and which was illegal for her to profit from in any way. If, during the run up to the Iraq War, every time you turned around Liz Cheney was for some reason getting paid $10 to $20 million dollars by any one of many Arab governments, so that by the time we rolled into Iraq "The Cheney Foundation" had made a billion fucking dollars, the left would have rightly lost their fucking minds. But if Hillary does the same thing, it's okay? The Middle East is burning and the only people who made money off it is Hillary and her cronies, paid by the Saudis, the Emirates, and a ton of other Islamic dictatorships that execute gays as a matter of law.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/160373/democrats-racially-diverse-republicans-mostly-white.aspx http://www.people-press.org/2015/04/07/a-deep-dive-into-party-affiliation/ It's like a year or two ago when the SBC thought they were fooling...anyone, except themselves...by electing a black pastor president of the convention. Didn't remotely change the actual facts about the racial make-up of the membership or the power structure.
If you look at the US Civil War with a similar breakdown, you'll understand that even then the Democrats were for the blacks and minorities.
it's better than that... http://nypost.com/2016/07/21/male-escorts-are-making-crazy-money-at-the-rnc/ Milo approves!
As Milo points out, Trump is the most gay friendly candidate to ever run for the Presidency, by far. Hillary was adamantly opposed to gay marriage until long after it became politically convenient. Hell, even Reagan was more gay friendly than the Clintons by a factor of about ten. He was also friendlier to blacks, or as the Clintons call them, "N***ers". Pull up Hillary's speeches to black churches were she tried her best to sound retarded, so black people can understand her.
You can take the Clintons out of Arkansas, but you can't the Arkansas out of the Clintons. Hi, Dayton!
Obama's half-brother Malik Obama is disappointed in Barack's administration and will be voting to Make America Great Again. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/07/24/obamas-half-brother-says-hes-voting-for-donald-trump.html
It depends on whether what he campaigned for from the beginning, and what Clinton began parroting (“Oh, me too! Me too!”) as far back as the debates – Medicare expansion, access to a state university education, etc. – is included in the party platform as Clinton has been promising since she got the nomination, or not.
You of course have the right to cast your vote any way you see fit. Others have the right to point out the practical effects of that choice.
Seems as if every politician has an Idiot Brother in the family. The Democrats try to keep them under wraps (e.g., Billy Carter). Takes the Republicans to elect one of them President...twice. Your support for Der Drumpfenführer is a smoke-and-mirrors (q.v. the WWE Grand Entrance – and theft of intellectual property – at the CONvention) attempt to say “Oh, so you think Dubya was the Worst President Evah? You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet!”
Stolen from a friend's FB post. Tim Kaine's style is boring af. But looking at his policy and actions: Founding member of the Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness Ran for VA Governor, opposing the death penalty Cut off funding for abstinence only education, requiring all reproductive education in Virginia to be evidence based and comprehensive Supports growth policies that reduce suburban and exurban sprawl Professionally, his legal career focused on civil rights law, particularly in the area of disparate impacts of racist housing policies in Virginia As governor, boosted funding for mental healthcare in Virginia Closed background check loopholes in Virginia, and has been a strong advocate for sensible gun laws 100% Pro Choice rating from Planned Parenthood So yes, he's a boring white dude. But damn, he sure gets some good things done.
And as governor of Virginia he made more off gifts from lobbyists than Bernie Sanders' entire salary.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...-banner-low_kaineliberal-835pm:homepage/story Progressives are not pleased and rightly so. They already knew Hillary was a corporatist and not a liberal so they wanted at least one actual liberal on the ticket. Instead we got yet another corporatist who wants banking deregulation. You can talk about consequences all you want but they haven't earned my vote and judging by their actions they aren't even interested in throwing liberals a bone. So fuck them.
Yeah, if he is only talking about regional banks then claiming he is talking about Wallstreet is a bullshit. The consolidation of regional banks is a bad thing. We should definitely be trying to help them (at the expense of Wallstreet). Local banks and Credit Unions are even more important.
"Progressives" like you who've now joined the Trump Circus? You and the Bernie Bros don't represent anyone but yourselves. And you can't even grasp the difference between a mid-sized bank and Citicorp, so quit repeating the bullshit. Bernie was calling for her resignation for months. Now, to @Zombie 's question, if this turns out to be a Clinton ploy to renege on the platform promises ("Jeez, Bernie, whattaya want? We gave you Debbie's head on a platter. Go home!"), there'll be a ruckus. No fog machines or fistfights, but a ruckus.
One of, if not the primary purposes of a political party is to get it's members elected to office. The Republican Party failed to even get one of their members in position to contest the highest office in the land. The closest they'll have is an ex-Republican running under a different party's banner. This is why a lot of Republicans are talking about this being the death of the party. It's not just the damage Trump is doing, but the fact that he was able to take the party over in the first place. Bernie Sanders has competed in 21 general elections. 13 of those were against Democrats. Politics is a team sport. You can't play the outsider for decades, turning your nose up at the party, actively campaign against the party's nominees and then get indignant when the party doesn't welcome you with open arms. The Democrats didn't fail like the Republicans. They successfully got a Democrat in position to contest the presidency.
According to a friend's Facebook, Carl Bernstein had this to say on CNN yesterday: "The fact our country has these two completely unacceptable major party candidates for president represents the greatest failure of the American media in our nation's history. These two candidates have been completely unvetted by the media. Where are the background reports? Where are the hour-long specials? Nobody has told us who these candidates are. Why aren't the media digging deep into Trump's entire business history? Why aren't the media getting to the bottom of the Clinton Foundation? The media cover the debates. The media cover the day-to-day horse race. But there has been no real journalism to date. It's a failure. It's an abdication."
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/storie...ME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-07-23-16-57-15 There was no meaningful reform on super deligates and what little compromise the Bernie folks could get out of the rules committee will likely be killed by the DNC. So that is a big failure to reform and make future races more democratic.
Oh, and granny pipe down with your nonsense that I am some how a Trump supporter. I have already said I am voting green party. Are you getting senile of something?
The Hill - E-mail controversy dogs Hillary to the convention Only 28 percent of Americans view her as honest, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll earlier this month. Sixty-seven percent view her as untrustworthy, a 5-point spike since just last month. That’s a big change from the spring of 2015, when only 45 percent of Americans judged her as untrustworthy. They view her as untrustworthy because she the most corrupt liar ever to run for high office.
He must not understand that the media is essentially part of the Democrat party at this point. Almost all media people are Democrats/Liberals/Progressives. The media supports the left in this country. They are not going to cover the left the way he thinks they should. If they did Hillary would have been vaporized politically long ago. So would Obama back in 2008. As for the media and Trump. We know of reports where the media is sitting on a whole lot of information not because they want to protect Trump but because they want to wait until he's the nominee to release this information. In other words they are attempting to help the Democrat party, of which they are part of, to win the general election.
The Hill - Jill Stein says Sanders should abandon party that betrayed him Some tweets: If @BernieSanders repudiates the Democratic Party that betrayed him, I'd welcome him into @GreenPartyUS to continue the revolution. #DNCleak — Dr. Jill Stein (@DrJillStein) July 23, 2016 Don't let establishment bully you into supporting corporate warmongers. This revolution won't go away & neither will we. #PeoplesConvention — Dr. Jill Stein (@DrJillStein) July 23, 2016 #DNCleak shows revolution can't survive in a counter-revolutionary party. I'm building@GreenPartyUS to keep the revolution going, join me! — Dr. Jill Stein (@DrJillStein) July 23, 2016
Can it really be said he's abandoning the party when he's never really been part of it? He was the Democrats version of Trump but he failed to win because he was weak in one area: going after Hillary. I believe had he attacked her relentlessly her corruption he would be the nominee today.
