The wall is being built! Except it's by the Democrats at the convention in philly. 4 miles long and eight feet tall! http://www.theamericanmirror.com/dnc-erects-four-mile-fence-around-philly-convention-site/
It was pretty obvious that Hillary and the dnc were united against Bernie. As much as I love Bernie he is not a democrat. The dems are not made to be a progressive modern party just like the republicans. There is a rise in real progressive ideals, and I think Bernie has shown it is possible to cast off the democrat party in the future for something that is not a corporate scam. Bernie was too late to start, and it made him lose. If there was a campaign for the next election that started earlier and had the ideas and actions of the Sanders campaign it would be over for both big parties. The next time they should not play at the democrat park where Hillary controllers the grounds.
Source In essence Schultz resigns and is then immediately hired onto the Clinton campaign. At least the corruption is transparent in this election cycle.
This is it, voters. Both major parties are dropping all pretenses as to what they really are. Punish them now or you'll have only yourselves to blame for what happens to this country in the years to come.
The GOP elites got their ass kicked by Trump, who is standing up for the masses who've been trod on by the elites. Thus so much of the top of the GOP is voting for Johnson/Weld, who are establishment Republicans. The DNC elites kicked Democratic voters' asses, standing up for Goldman Sachs and the perpetual gravy train. Heck, the DNC convention is hosted by Wells Fargo.
In the end, it doesn't matter if it's legit. People who want to see corruption will be convinced Trump and Clinton are in cahoots regardless. Like everything else in this election, it can be debunked and people will still say in November that they voted for X due to the spreadsheet. People who are voting on other considerations will continue to make their choice on other considerations.
And what would those other considerations be? The desire to hand power to the most corrupt person in US history? The ugliest person to ever run for high office? The biggest hick to run for high office? The most unlikable person to run for high office? The person with the worst and most expensive pantsuit and fashion sense to run for high office? The only person to run for high office who couldn't pass a security check to be a mall cop? The person who is met with the refrain "Lock her up! Lock her up!" Or the person who just screwed over all Democrats and progressives in her corrupt quest for unchecked and unaccountable power in service to corporate greed?
Shrug, it's a political party, they try to get members of the party nominated, they strategize how to win the election, they investigate all the angles. It's called due diligence.
Current polling has Trump up by 5 points. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/poll-trump-clinton-gop-convention-226104
Dumb. So dumb. I think Hillary just lost the election. She can kiss most of the Bernie supporters good bye. I don't want Trump to win but my state is solidly Republican anyway... so I'll probably vote third party if I bother to vote at all.
I seem to remember that in the last election cycle the Republicans were giving themselves handjobs on national media over similar numbers, talking about how Obama wasn't getting his fanboys and fangirls energized and was going to get blown out by Romney. We know how that worked out for them election night.
The other considerations for a Democrat to vote for Hillary are: 1 - I'm a minority who wants the checks to continue to roll in timely each month. 2 - I'm playing the "I'm disabled, depressed and unable to work" game and I want the checks to continue to roll in timely each month. 3 - I'm for the murderous slaughter of unborn children and I don't want to see this end under any circumstance. 4 - I believe I'm entitled to free sh!t because, well, it's not fair that I should have to work for it. Keep those phones, blocks of cheese and checks coming! 5 - I believe that people don't know how to effectively manage their own lives and that centralized government can do it much better for them. 6 - I'm a safe-spacer and all the rhetoric from conservatives frightens and confuses me. I'm just a liberal caveman. I'm sure there are more....
How'd I know you were going to literally shrug this off. Most people call it corruption, like Boss Tweed style.
How did I know you would prove that you don't understand why parties exist and how they are organized?
Little Debbie addresses the convention and gets bood from the florida delegation http://floridapolitics.com/archives...jeers-attempts-address-florida-delegation-dnc
Sure it's totally normal and ethical for the chair of a political party to deliberately stack the deck in favor of the candidate they prefer.
1968: LBJ announces he will not seek second term. Eugene McCarthy wins six Democratic primaries to Hubert Humphrey's zero (there were fewer primaries back then). Guess whom the DNC chooses to run against Nixon? Guess who wins, in part because Humphrey was seen as being complicit with Johnson in Vietnam, but also because many McCarthites stayed home? This is something the Bernie Babies should consider carefully. "Ethical"? No. SOP, unfortunately.
Possibly. He did win four primaries before he was killed. Here's the breakdown: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_presidential_primaries,_1968
