As the Romans used to "En vino veritas". Or in a more modern context: "When someone tells you who they are, believe them."

"The Wounded" was just on BBCAmerica, and Picard's line about "when someone has been angry for a very long time, it starts to become comfortable, like old leather, and then after awhile, they can't remember feeling any other way" made me think of UA.

UA is not comfortable like old leather.

He has the same wrinkly appearance and creaking noise though.

He's not wrong. It's taken years and years to even begin to undo the anger of a childhood of emotional neglect by people who themselves were not whole and being the de facto therapist for my mom's shitty relationships. It's nothing short of a miracle that the only relationship trauma I've personally had involved a 17 year old who wanted nothing to do with me. Most chicks in my situation would fuck anything with a dick. Or maybe that's the gray-ace* in me speaking, I dunno.

*Asexual who only really gets horny for people I feel closeness to, which is not the same as "just having standards" :brood:

See, if you were truly about live and let live, why would it matter to you that there is a term for a real phenomenon rather than write out every time "person who only feels sexual attraction for people they are emotionally close to"?

'member the good old days of WF when I, a nineteen year old who didn't want to jump into sex with every guy I went on one date with, got called a prude and a dyke and narrow minded despite never once suggesting that others had to follow my example?

    I 'member

I remember when infinitely navel gazing over the particulars of using one's genitals wasn't generally passed off as a personality.

Knowing the proper term for something is "infinite navel gazing" now? Expanding ones vocabulary is something that's worthy of your disdain in 2021?

    You're a fucking cartoon.

Doc beat me in calling you the cartoon that you are, but to expand further: I never made a big deal about shit. It was everyone else who acted like I'd killed their dog and raped their mothers. I mean, I was still very much recovering from a horrific...attachment for lack of a better word where'd gone full stalker. Believe me, I did men a favor by recalling myself off the market. :diacanu:

    The snowflake calling people delicate.
    That's cute.
