Prob an obscure one to most of ya but I've downloaded Battlefleet Gothic: Armada from Steam. This is a repro of the original tabletop wargame Battlefleet Gothic from Games Workshop, set in their grimdark Warhammer 40,000 universe, where the brutal and oppressive Imperium of Man is our race's only hope against the even more brutal and oppressive forces of Chaos, the alien Eldar and Orks and many other foes (but only those three in the game so far). DLC adds the space forces of the Imperial Space Marines, who keep their fleets separate from the main Imperial Navy and use their own ship types and will soon add another alien race, the Tau. I've mainly been leveling an Imperial fleet in solo skimishes against the AI - I got three missions into the campaign and lost the "defend the convoy against the Orks" mission so put it aside until I understand the mechanics a bit better. The game could use a truly custom solo match creator - you get to select mission type, enemy and points value (as you rank up your admiral you gain Renown, which is used to buy more ships or upgrade existing ones - you can use any undamaged ships for the battle but they have a points value), however the points value system could do with more choice - I also play the RPG Rogue Trader, which has your PCs commanding one or two smaller ships (usually light cruisers), and a 150pt match choice would be good for creating the types of battle that go on there. They also need to add a screenshot command, because the cutscenes are beautiful. And balance is a bit of an issue, but that only really affects multiplayer. I still hate fighting orks though - their ships take huge amounts of damage to bring down and the buggers keep trying to ram you, which on most ships will destroy or cripple them. Getting better at dodging but most of my victories don't get my ships much experience as the orks tend to break and run rather than get blown up. All in all, a worthy expedition into the Warhammer 40K arena. Dayton might like it, apart from the Imperium worshiping the Emperor as a god. You do get to fight Heretics though, and godless xenos scum (though the campaign might allow some wiggle room on the xenos hate from what I hear...)
Just started Damaged Core tonight. I was dubious about the mechanics of taking control of enemies bodies, but it actually feels quite natural and apart from some disorientation when the character isn't facing the way I would expect after a teleport it felt very grounded and I didn't get any of the discomfort I would have expected from such rapid movement. The gaze shooting controls work alright, although the zoom doesn't feel quite right since minor deviations in gaze from a target can result in your view being way off when you zoom in which gives a feeling like your head has swung to the side. I hope they release a patch for this when motion controls are released for the Rift, having the host switching gaze and weapon shooting decoupled would probably work really well. Graphically it looks alright, has the slightly weird style that the Conduit did but everything is visually coherent.
Picked up Toki Tori and Toki Tori 2+ for a couple of bucks in a sale, been playing the first one. They're puzzle-platformers where a cute bird (in the avian sense) wanders around a cute background collecting eggs. It reminds me of Daisy's Garden, if anyone played that, with a few more abilities but less free-ranging enemies. Challenging so far; it hits that sweet spot where I think I've got the solution but I need Just One More Power-up!
My tolerance for puzzle games right now begins and ends at Picross. Picross 3D 2 is really really good.
Picked up Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and I am extremely underwhelmed with the multi-player. I just can't get behind the whole jet pack thing. I'm really hoping the next COD returns more to its roots. Madden 17 is awesome however.
Skate 3. It just got backwards compatibility on the Xbox One and it was cheap. Game is good, been a while since I played a Skate game.
Fifa 17 and Skyrim SE on PS4. Skyrim SE on PC, too, of course.... Sadly, my machine got old. I will replace it when the Elder Scrolls 6 is released, which will happen in 2022 or so. (Don't merge this forum with MC! )
Haven't started playing anything new, but I'm looking forward to playing Red Dead Redemption 2 when it comes out.
Picked up Battlefield 1 for $35 at Target. Fun game. Lot of things going on though. Oh and totally merge Press Start into Media Central.
Don't make me warn you for trolling outside of the red room Also, been playing some Skate 3 recently. It went backwards compatible on the Xbox One.
Secret world and the elder scrolls online. Love I can play tso at 4k maxed out effects on my 970. Combat is tough in both games. Lots of solo content.
I like puzzle games. You know, like Bejeweled and all that jazz. There's a great game called "4 Elements" that I've been playing. It combines a fantasy environment, plus gem matching to create a puzzle where you get a limited amount of time to get the particular element (Air/Water/Fire/Earth) to its destination, which looks like some kind of elemental altar, to release that particular element. There are four books, one for each element, with 16 puzzles each. It's a lot of fun, and it gets far more complex the further along you get in the game. There are a few downsides. Sometimes the camera moves before you're really finished with an area, as it follows the element path when it moves, so there's times where you can't get to a specific chain of gems. Also, the game is pre-HD, so it's 4:3 resolution, and isn't as sharp and clear as it could be. I want them to release an HD version, but I doubt they will. You can check it out here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/47000/
Started playing tor instead of secert world. John secret world is a mmo thats got puzzles that contain musical notes, latin. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/26/the-secret-world-review
I picked up Star Wars Battlefront for $14 on Xbox One, figured what the hell - still haven't played it, has anyone else here? Any good?
I hear it was kind of a letdown. My friends really liked 1 and 2 a ton. This one was all online, had microtransaction packs, no single player story, and I don't think it had the space battles from 2.
Forza 3, and World of Tanks. My son is trying to get me to play more often, he gets tired of a non-competitive father that swears like a sailor when he gets his ass kicked.
I consider buying an used XBox just for the "Forza"-Series. There are lots of good racing games on the ps4, but I prefer fun racers like "Need for Speed", not simulations. I am a bad driver! The last NfS-Games have been very, very disappointing, though.
My SU-85 tank destroyer is badass, as is my Marder 38 and Stug III. I'm especially excited to get the T-64 and Comet tanks, soon.

You trying to do this? Anyway, I'm playing Sacred Treasure, by the people behind Cursed Treasure. This isn't another tower defense, though; it's more in the vein of The Enchanted Cave, but much, much simpler, less random, and also nothing takes place in a cave so far. It's quite enjoyable, though not at Cursed Treasure levels.
Spent a fair chunk of time today just messing around in Oculus Medium, and went through the tutorial missions for The Unspoken. The Unspoken seems pretty cool. It uses the hand tracking well, feels like the type of game people expected when the Wii was first shown. Looking forward to trying out the multiplayer because I've heard good things. Medium isn't a game as such, but it is really fun to screw around in, and the ability to export the models means it could have some really interesting applications for rapid prototyping of content. I want to get one of my friends who is a decent artist into it and see what they can create. One of the abominations that came out of my Medium playing:
I preordered an Oculus but cancelled it prior to it shipping. It was partially due to them selling them in stores before getting them out to preorders, and partially because I would have wanted the Vive more (works with steam not a separate client, room-scale) Now I don't know when I'll buy in. I don't have the setup, and my PC is just barely at specs (970 video card is the limiting factor)
Currently playing Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood on my PC via emulation. It's a pretty old game from 1993 but I enjoy the classics.
