So I got rid of photo bucket and @shootER suggested imigur, which worked at first, but now this is what I get when I try to upload a picture. It happens a lot lately. Any suggestions?
I sometimes have that problem when using the Imgur app on my phone, but I'm not sure what causes it. I've never had a problem copying the pre-made code for my photos at Imgur and pasting it here.
I just use the built-in function. Click "upload a file," upload it, and then choose "full image" instead of "thumbnail."
Yes. I also use a widget on my BBS so people can upload images without using my limited server space.
Don't just copy paste the URL after you upload the image. The link you are trying to post an image to is the gallery, which simply won't work. The link needs to end in .jpg, .gif, .png, etc. Try uploading an image to Imgur. Once the image has finished uploading click on the drop down menu near the top right corner of the image and click on "Share" (or something like that). It should give you four different options. Copy/paste the BBCode option, which should have the IMG tags in brackets.
When you click on an uploaded photo on a computer, there's a pre-populated area to the right with different codes for posting the link somewhere, including one with IMG tags. I don't get that on the app, though. What I do get is a button to download the image, open it in Safari, or copy the link (as well as post it directly to Facebook, Twitter, etc). I copy the link, then paste it in the pop-up box for posting images here. It works just fine most of the time, but sometimes I have that same
Don't use the fucking app. For some reason, in the last month or so, Imgur has forced mobile users into that. It's really fucking stupid. You can bypass that and still upload through your browser. In Chrome, click on the button at the top right that looks like three periods stacked on top of each other (or whatever equivalent "Settings" button other browsers have). From there, click on "Request Desktop Site". Then, Imgur should load as if you were using a computer and you can upload and share like normal.
@shootER or worse come to worst, upload it in the app, copy the link, paste it into your browser, hold your finger on the image until a context menu pops up, click "view this image in new tab", copy the resulting URL, and then post that within the IMG tags. Just make sure it ends in .jpg, .gif, or some other image filetype.
The app gives me the option to open the site in Safari and it looks like you describe in Chrome. Having to go through the browser is a pain in the ass, though. The method I described works most of the time in the app, just with the occasional instead of the photo. I only post from the app through my phone a fraction of the time compared to how often I used a laptop or desktop. The main thing I use the app for is to upload images straight from my phone, which is quick and easy.
