Try to actually understand the issue before you open your mouth. The fees in question are $1.35 per cow mouth month or some such measure. This amount happens to be about $7 bellow market rate.

Yeah, that's the part they won't touch, because they don't dare. They'd rip their own heads off and shit in their own mouths to keep a less than adoring word about the Feds from escaping their lips.

Yup. At the rates Bundy refuses to pay, he was already being highly subsidized. If he owes a million in fees that means he legally collected $5,000,000 in welfare. The man would be bankrupt if not for his suckling at the government teat.

You can play hypotheticals with the Bundy worshippers. I'll stick with facts, thanks.

In other words: You're full of shit, and now that you've been called on it, you're backing off that ridiculous claim -- but, naturally, doing it with a cheap shell of snark you hope will disguise the fact that that's what's happened.

While my gut feeling is to cheer long and loud at this, especially since there is no way I want to give the impression that I in any way endorse Clive Bundy or agree with him on anything, I have to wonder if what you wrote is really true in all cases. Think of the Civil Rights Movement in the 60s, for example. The battle was only won in the courts because enough people dared to defy the police -- and the law -- on the streets that it made people sit up and realize that something was terribly wrong, something they had been pretending not to see for far too long. Many of those who defied the police and the law (starting with Martin Luther King himself) paid the ultimate price so that others could be free, but their actions were not in vain. Not only did American laws finally change, but America stopped propping up the apartheid regime in South Africa as well.

No, I am not in any way comparing the actions of Bundy to those who fought so bravely for civil rights. I am only pointing out that, when a battle really is worth fighting (Bundy's isn't), sometimes it has to be fought on the streets before it can be effectively fought in the courts.

I've answered this six times so far. (Yes, I actually went and checked.) Any hints on what I should do to make you see the answer? Posting it in response to the question in this thread clearly isn't working.

I'm totally fine with human shields being gunned down by everyone, all the time, for any reason at all, because that's the only way to stop criminals from using them at every opportunity.

The absolute obliviousness required to generate a statement like that is almost awe-inspiring.

^ It's called trolling. Making a ridiculous statement just to generate a hostile response.

You, of all people, should know that when you see it. Yet you fell right into it...

You'd think so, but I've made the same argument before in relation to terrorists using human shields or hiding in civilian areas, and no one seemed to think it was trolling then. :chris:

Poster #99 to make the mistake of thinking "If I'm rude, garamet will answer the hypothetical question I just pulled out of my ass."

Hasn't happened yet; won't happen in the future.

As for authorities attacking unarmed civilians, your side was the one applauding the cop with the pepper spray, the ones beating the Occupiers, etc.

Shouting at us isn't going to exonerate you from that. Find one instance in which I or anyone else on my side has endorsed the scenario Bundy and Federal Farmer were so desperately hoping would happen.

Or since reasoning isn't your strength, just go find more videos of chickens.

The old coot opened his mouth and gave his detractors all the ammunition they needed to discredit him and divert attention away from the central issue of whether he had the right to use the land to graze his cattle. His son should have told him to stay away from the microphones and quit while he was ahead.

But if we're gonna talk about his inelegantly stated opinions on race and the welfare state, then I'll point out that his comments are no different than Romney's statements about the 47%. And his beliefs about how the welfare state has sapped entire generations of minorities of the will to achieve anything greater than their next SSDI check WIC vouchers is the bread & butter rhetoric of the Republican party.

Even Rand Paul has abandoned this asshat.

But if Castle needs a new idol who fits his ideals, there's always this guy:
