Yes, I am actually thinking about possibly getting in to gaming in a limited way. I'm a big BattleTech fan and have been watching videos of Mechwarrior Online. Really thinking about getting in to that. BUT, it's only available for WinDoze and I'm all Apple at home. So my thought is to buy a WinDoze laptop set up for gaming. Anybody have any insight?
I don't know much about hardware, but you can play a bunch of steam games on a mac now. Maybe not Mechwarrior Online, but there are many great games available on apple devices.
Thought about that, but I'm hearing performance might be too much of an issue. A dedicated machine seems a simpler arrangement.
Um. I'd go with an I-5 Quad Core at minimum (not sure what the AMD equivalent is). 8 GB RAM at minimum. As far as graphics cards go, you should be fine with something newer than an nVidia GeForce GTX 660 (what I have in my desktop and WoW bitches it's not supported but it works fine). Shop around Newegg to see what they have. You should be able to pick up the free upgrade to Win 10; it'll come with 8.1. Oh, and stay the ever living fuck away from Lenovo.
Some of the videos of Mechwarrior online look pretty good though I suspect the game would suck up a lot of spare time.
