I have become a GOT superfan, too... Die Nacht ist dunkel und voller Schrecken! I nearly finished season 4, now it is time to start with the Telltale Game!
I got tired of killing Orcs after a while - guess I'll have to go back to play the game again but it sort of lost me. I'm playing Company of Heroes with my kid and we are having a lot of fun. Little blighter beat me the other day with a suicidal charge that seized my defenses. Already getting to the point where he wins even when I'm not letting him win, lol.
I finally bought the Android version of Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition and it is much better than I remember it to be.
I think I am going to run a human Kenai in BG and the expanded game pack scenarios, then duel class him into a mage in BG2. The hard part was rolling his stats over and over again in the random number generator until I got over 100 points for his ability scores. That took about 45 minutes but it is worth it if you are going to play the same character through both games and the expansions.
I've been playing GTA IV, which I'm not liking so well. I miss the fun of GTA: Vice City, and San Andreas.
If you want that, check out Saints Row: The Third and Saints Row IV. They picked up where San Andreas left off. GTA IV is great, but it's not that.
I have Saints Row for the PC, and it was okay, but I think they went too far in the opposite direction and became a bit too cartoonish. This sounds silly, but I wish Rockstar would release an updated GTA: Vice City. That one is still my all-time favorite.
I thought Saints Row: The Third got crazy in the best way possible. The story went nuts, and so did all the weapons and cars and stuff. And 4 only expanded on that.
I tried playing GTA IV after playing GTA V, the vehicle controls are horrible on GTA IV. You can't steer the cars worth shit in that game. Real shame too because the game itself seems like it has promise.
Exactly. In the previous GTA games, when I'd corner, I'd actually corner, but in GTA IV, if I take a corner, I flip, or I slide, or I bounce like my tires are made out of marshmallows. It's frustrating.
Yeah, I remember the driving being super frustrating in GTA IV for sure. The shooting, while better than every other GTA game at the time, also has not aged well I bet.
I spent a few weeks on the 0.16 tournament in Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Managed to get a Fire Elementalist up to L17 before getting it killed. Got to kill a lot more uniques and enter more branches than last time too. Currently I've got another FE at L15 and still alive.
I've been playing a lot of Skylanders. A lot. My son loves it, and I have grown to as well. A lot more fun than you might think, and I really like the toys.
Some of the bosses in that game are tough as hell! Great game though. I'm hoping Nintendo announces another Metroid game at E3. Are you playing the GamCube original, or the Wii version (Metroid Prime Trilogy)?
Played ST-Online yesterday and the day before. It's pretty much click-click-click-click-click-click to blow up an enemy ship, shoot an enemy character, or do this action or that action. Nothing really beyond that anymore. The missions are 'different' as in they characters say different stuff but they're all the same. Go to this system, fight a few ships, beam down, fight a few people, beam up, fight some ships, collect rewards.
GC original. Don't have a Wii U to grab the Trilogy off the store -- especially sad since I lost my Prime 1 disc
I still have my GameCube as well. It was a great little system. I'm my opinion it had a far better library of games than the original XBox. Never came close to the PS2 however. I'm hoping they remake more GameCube games for the WiiU. The Wind Waker remake is great. I would like to see remakes for Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and F-Zero GX.
Been playing DIABLO 3. This is one stupid ass game. But it's perfect to just turn off your brain after a long day (of which I have had a few too many lately). It's made for online play, though. And I don't do that. So stupidly hacking my way through dumb hordes it is. I also got free copys of GTA 5 and FAR CRY 4 by being a bad auntie, confiscating the contraband from my sister's 11 year old. I don't know from whom he borrowed it and he won't tell but now they are mine. I'm itching to play GTA since the hype is so great and the open world is so much down my alley and yet I hesitate. This costs so much time I don't have.
I've been playing a lot of Mario & Luigi Dream Team on my 3DS, and a handful of OlliOlli on there as well. I bought "You Must Build A Boat" on my iPad which is a sequel to 10,000,000 so that should be pretty good too.
Mostly RTS with my kid, Dawn of War, and the Civ V series, including Beyond Earth. Tried Alien Isolation, didn't care for it - guess I was expecting too much. Best little game I've gotten in a while is The Stanley Parable. Absolutely sublime! On Steam right now for $3.74.
Some stupid game of thrones turn based game on my phone. It is one of those pay to win sort of games. "For just $10 more you can buy this really cool sword!"
I just started playing Battlefield 4 on my Xbox 360. That game is crazy! I'm not used to shooters like this. I used to play Battlefield 1942 on the PC, but this game is in a whole different league. It's more difficult, the graphics look fantastic, but most of all, it's immersive. I get sucked right in and forget what time it is every time I play.
Bit the bullet and picked up an Xbone a few months back, so have been playing: Witcher 3 (loved it despite not having played the first two) Arkham Knight (fantastic except for the fugging Batmobile which I can manage OK in combat now but am still haphazard at speed... I hate the sewer "fight" with the Knight's drill machine, can just about manage the APC/Firefly chases and am not even gonna attempt the Riddler's speed challenges) Ryse: Son of Rome (very short and combat gets repetitive but damn it's manly and also graphically beautiful) Halo: Master Chief Collection (if I'd heard about the backwards compatibility I may not have bothered, but I assume remasters won't get made BC anyway) Am really hoping the previous Arkham games and XCOM get on the backwards-compatibility list. Especially with XCOM2 on the way. I've still got my X360 but not enough space on the peripherals shelf to keep it plugged in.
Really into MechWarrior Online now. This past holiday weekend I put in many hours in my various mechs, doling out the damage and also getting Blown Up Real Good.
