Four years ago, I took my digital camera and shot Portland's light rail train approaching, arriving and leaving its only subway station. I happened to watch it again yesterday, and it came out better than I would have expected for a noob with zero cinematography experience. (Yes, it is that windy as the train enters the tunnel and begins approaching the station)
After dealing with trailing artifacts with tube cameras, CCDs and their vertical smear were a welcome change. CCDs are so good now that it's been years since I saw vertical smear in a viewfinder.
Probably extraneous footage, but it captures the sound of the train entering the tunnel and how loud they are on the tracks even after they pass the vanishing point after leaving the station.
