And the angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to oppose you because your way is perverse before me.

    Proverbs 12:10
Whoever is righteous has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel.

Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds,

Humans and animals have the same destiny. One dies just like the other. All of them have the same breath of life.

In effect. Though humans are supposed to be good stewards over what God has given us. And that would include animals.

God made the firstborn of Egypt just silently plop dead, and could sift out the households with lamb blood on the door, so we know he has this superpower.

So why not have sex with them?
What could be the objection besides a matter of personal taste?

Condemned in the Bible. No other objection is needed.

Come to think of it, could this be why ancient Jews thought pigs were "unclean"?
Because the pig herders were fucking them?
And why were pigs even around if no one was eating them?

This could have been an interesting thread. Why has it become about Dayton and his moronic three year olds version of Christianity?

@Dayton3 when you are in Heaven and if God gives you the power to extract @El Chup and @ed629 from Hell, would you do it? Or let them enjoy the eternal torment they deservedly brought upon themselves?

That Angel of Death could get a solid weapons lock on every child in Egypt, but couldn't discern Hebrew children from Egyptian without a mark on the door?

Of course it could. The purpose of the mark was for the Hebrews in Egypt to show obedience to God.

Don't know why this is hard to understand. In real life you do lots of things that have little or no practical value but you do it because it develops practices and habits that are beneficial in the long run.

Do American soldiers still learn to march together in basic training? What is the point of that as they're never going to use that in battle.?

A person should not presume to overrule God.

How could you possibly claim that is immoral?

Okay, let's try to twist it back on course.

Who do you trust to know more about Christianity, Richard Hagenston, or Dayton?

Posrep for the former, negrep for the latter.

Why would Richard Hagenston possibly know more about Christianity than me?

He is a Methodist for crying out loud. Considered by many in this area to be no more than a social club that calls itself "Christian".

Dayton, virtually EVERYONE knows more about Christianity than you do.

Although regarding Methodists, I grant you that. There are still faithful Methodist churches, but you don't exactly trip over them everywhere you go. UMC, UCC, ELCA, PC(USA), they've all abandoned the Gospel to grasp for whatever suits them.

Yes, they do...the good ones. Parents do not always give you a pound of candy or convert the garage into a stable for a pony , but they show love by feeding and clothing you and providing a home. The best parents are the ones that show their children how to take care of themselves.

Assuming you went with the God = Parent analogy because I haven't read the second page as I type this, how the hell would you expect someone that grew up under abuse or starvation or lost limbs in an accident with a drunk driver to see a God that loves them and provides for them?

Does that extend to welfare queens that are pro life and use your tax dollars to raise the life that is so precious for you and your ilk to save?

Notice though most of these refer to animals that are property versus wild creatures. So after the fact (the flood) god says respect the animals? Dementia or old age perhaps? Schizophrenia?

But you just said who cares about the animals? :bang: So humans are supposed to be good stewards over animals yet god wipes out almost the entire animal world instead of just "smiting" the humans? :bang: And doesn't it say in the bible that man should have "dominion" over animals? I cannot keep up with let alone understand the contradictions!

I'll try to answer as best as I can. I'm on my phone, so I'll try to keep it short. Lots of peooe believe they have a soul without believing in the bible. Lots of religions have an afterlife that have nothing to do with the bible. Lots of non-religious people believe they have a soul. I believe even John Lennon has mentioned it at one time or another.

I don't totally discount the bible either. I believe there has been a lot of misinterpretations and misunderstandings about events told in the bible. I also believe there is some truth to the stories told in the bible. One thing I find very interesting is the Genesis story. In a very simplistic way it tells the story of the Big Bang and evolution. So, either someone 5k+ years ago somehow some guy figured it out without any evidence or scientific method, or Ancient Aliens told Moses in a way he could understand about the origins of the Universe, or God told Moses the origins of the Universe. The first seems very unlikely, the socond is plausible, but frowned upon and the third, well that's a matter of faith. If it was ancient aliens, then what's to say that they weren't agents of God or maybe they are aware of some some sort of God? There's really only two realistic possibilities.
