Picked up Mortal Kombat Ultimate Edition or something like that over the weekend. Played it for a few hours, it's OK so far.

I don't play Halo online. As you may remember from the one match we had, it was basically me getting shot in the face by people half my age for 15 minutes. The only kill I got was sticking you with a plasma just as you whacked me in the face with the butt of a battle rifle.

I'm on Mount and Blade now - fun medieval fighting sim. Also did Pillars of Eternity, pretty good old school RPG.

So apparently Castle Crashers remastered came out today for Xbox one, and if you owned it on xbox 360, you can get it for free until the 20th. Also there's a way to transfer your save from the 360 to the remake. If you miss the initial free window, it goes to 5 bucks if you already own the game. I think I'll be playing this one a bit.

http://blog.thebehemoth.com/2015/09/09/castle-crashers-remastered-out-now-on-xbox-one/ here's the blog post if you want it.

Hadn't played games for years and years and years.. until I discovered the reboot of a classic: Elite.
Still don't have time to play often, but it is great fun! Mind you, outside of battle, it can get too boring for some (good old fashioned trading, mining or exploring) - but like in the old Elite, you just need a bit of imagination. Also, there is a political side of the game where various factions compete for territory, but imho that is not that well developed yet. That said, there are an increasing number of options to play the game - they're currently testing the latest addition; CQC - Close Quarters Combat, a sort of minigame where you just do dogfights around space bases, and immediately respawn after getting killed. Next up is planet landings (see 3rd video) in Horizons, coming this christmas, apparently including some kind of crafting, and looting of destroyed ships.
Love the graphics, even though I can only play on medium settings max. Have a look!

I have Elite Dangerous but I have hardly been playing it.

I've been playing a lot of War Thunder.

^ War Thunder is hellafun. It's one of the better WWII type flight games out there right now, IMO.

I'm currently playing GTA IV for the PC. I had trouble with the Xbox 360 version (I don't play much in the way of consoles), but since my 360 RROD'd, I'm back on the PC, where I have since realized this game is a lot of fun.

Picked up Lego Dimensions for the Xbone. Took about 40 minutes to assemble the bricks that form the dimensional portal, luckily about the time it took to install the game. Played through to the first major level (Wizard of Oz dimension) before dinner. Fun so far - fighting the Wicked Witch of the West with Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle (the girl from the Lego Movie).

I've preordered the Doctor Who add-on pack (of course). There's lots of packs available although pricing is steep. Each pack unlocks a new set of story missions and an open-world level based on that universe... Ghostbusters, Scooby-Doo, Back to the Future and The Simpsons are available, among others. Each has some bricks to assemble which then interact with the portal set via RFID chip.

The game also gets you to keep playing with the bricks - you have to move them around the portal set as indicated by colours to teleport your characters to locations in the game level, or to free them from enemy effects. Since my Xbone is a way from the couch and the portal interface USB isn't THAT long, this will mean having the set on the floor where the figures may find that a giant inquisitive cat is a worse enemy than Lord Vortech (the big bad)... Nom.

Good fun so far... Been through levels based on the Simpsons, Ninjago (a Lego toyline based around ninja tournaments) and now in the Doctor Who universe exploring a Cyberman base. Can only play as Batman, Wyldstyle or Gandalf until I buy add-on packs, and the levels have some areas that can only be accessed by specific characters... For example, a superstrong character like Superman is required to clear metal debris blocking the path, tech specialists like the Doctor are needed to override certain consoles, etc.

Vehicles get a bit of use... The starter kit comes with a Batmobile that any character can drive, which you build following in-game instructions and then place on its RFID pedestal and import into the game. The add-on packs allow vehicles like the TARDIS, the Mystery Machine, the DeLorean or ECTO-1. Technically, you don't need to build the kits, you could just pop the RFID stand on the portal set, but since you need to move the figures about to solve various puzzles, it's a lot easier to see which one you need to move if you do actually put the kit/figure on.

Also picked up Halo 5. I won't spoil the storyline (besides, I'm only on mission 7), but both Chief and Locke get solid and respectful characterisation, and Chief's reasons for doing what he does so far make total sense.

A few reviewers have complained about cutscenes making the Spartans more athletic than is possible in the game itself. Whilst you won't pull off all of the moves, the game does actually up their mobility a lot with the ability to jump near to ledges and pull yourself up in a smooth double-tap of the A button. It really helps get around and makes it much easier to flank enemies. I tore through the Covenant, but the Prometheans still give me a tough fight. Knights and the new boss character can be tough to take down, as their weak spots aren't as easy to pinpoint with the new graphics.

The AI team mechanics are good. Team members can revive you from anything but insta-kills unless they're all downed as well. And in my last boss fight I told them to hit the medics and they not only did it, but somehow downed the boss while I was maneuvering to use a scattergun on the last Knight.

Nice little touch - it feels like Chief runs a bit faster than Locke and hits harder, but Locke has better shields, representing the extra enhancements Chief has but Locke's edge in suit tech.

I've been burning through GTA V hoping to finish it before Fallout 4 releases. Other than that, I have a game called Downwell which is really good. It's a quick, roguelike game, where you're falling and landing on enemies, and can only shoot if you jump. Some enemies can't be landed on. You're collecting gems and weapon powerups, and extra abilities in between each level. It's cheap and really cool. Feels great to play.

LEGO Dimensions is hella fun. They've mixed and matched characters from various TV, toy and movie universes excellently.

Example: popped into the Ghostbusters universe and ended up fighting General Zod. The episode title?

    "The Phantom Zone"

    :)

The Scooby-Doo world was fun too. And the song over the end credits? Fans of a certain puzzle game will love it.

I've just received the Doctor Who add-on pack, which is superb so far - comes with CapalDoc, K-9 and the TARDIS. The additional level plays a LEGO version of the current Who opening sequence, with little LEGO Doctors (all incarnations) running around the whirling cogs. The level involves time travel as a mechanic... Find a certain point in the level and you can use the TARDIS to travel to the same point but at a different time, so you can change the layout of the future level by altering it in the past.

And LEGO Daleks playing with basketballs is always cool.

Level pack. Buy an add-on kit of driver and car, plus an arcade console. Will add a custom story level, plus a game world for free explore. And the driver and car probably have special abilities in the main game (whilst the campaign can be completed with the basic trio of Gandalf, Wyldstyle and Batman, certain obstables can only be accessed by add-on characters... For example only people with lasers can destroy silver obstacles, like K-9 or Superman)

No idea. I've never been into Midway, so not forking out for the add-on. I may go for the Back to the Future, Ghostbusters or Scooby-Doo packs, but that's about it.

    FIFA 16 forever!

Games on my PS4 which I bought but never played longer than a few hours, not because they are bad, but I am too lazy to get into them and chose to play FIFA instead:

Need For Speed 2015, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Diablo 3 (got bored after 10 hours), Dragon Age 3, The Last of Us remastered (one of the best games ever, had to own it for the ps4, too) and as the latest addition: Farcry Primal.

I desperately try not to buy any new games this year, hundreds of hours of fun are still waiting for me. But it is hard! :(

I've been playing some Stardew Valley. That game is cool. Very low key. I've heard it's similar to Harvest Moon, but way more stuff.

I've also been playing Star Trek: Timelines on my phone. Not a bad mobile F2P game, but it has an energy system, and a buy page with "Best Value!" on it, so be warned.

Also, Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle remastered just came out this week, so I might get into that soon. Grim Fandango was pretty good when they remastered that.

    Star Wars Battlefront

Just started playing The Division but I'm not really a fan of the bullet sponge thing.

Got a crap load of games I've got to play. Man I need to win the lottery so I can stop working and play games all day long.

I've been playing GTA V on and off again, already finished the game one time, playing it again so I can leave he assassination missions until after the main story line is done so I can end up with the 2 billion in cash.

Also playing Fallout Vegas, it's ok I guess still trying to get a hang of the game.

Also playing Uncharted: Drake's Deception, I'm liking this one, I think I'm half way through or so.

I've playing all the games above off and on, maybe once a week or so. I'm planning on getting Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. The reviews for those two seem pretty good, and they use the same game engine that the GTA games do, so they should be good.
