It's a case by case thing. Wonder Woman being at least bi isn't that crazy, it's absurd to think that an island of nothing but women is 100% heterosexual.

I really only give Ghost in the Shell a pass because it's an adaptation and the Major probably swaps bodies so much that race and gender really aren't that much of an issue. I always got the implication that she originally looked completely different before and her current body was a standard model design. The whole movie is about identity, so they could make it really interesting. As for Emma Stone, she was the least of that movie's problems. That trying to pass her off as part-Asian was pretty stupid. That could have been fixed with a line of dialogue about her being adopted or something.

I actually read the article, the writer just says that Wonder Woman probably had a few female lovers. That's about it. Given the lack of men on the island, it makes sense. So she's bi or queer, whatever you want to call it. Nothing to get your underoos in a twist over.
