But anyone on the right who defends that choice can shut the fuck up about, for example, when ESPN decides they have had enough of Curt Schilling or whatever.

A repeatedly abused person murdering their abuser would be one just off hand.

Even in at-will states people with jobs like hers can sue if the employer is in breach of contract. I've seen it happen more than once (and each time the company settled instead of waiting for a judgement because they knew they fucked up).

In this case, though, I suspect she's probably the one who violated the terms of the contract by going "off message" from the views that Beck wants on his network.

My "angle" here is that I agreed with what Shep wrote. Nothing more or less.

Technically, every state but Montana is at-will by default, but some have exceptions spelled out (for instance, a handful of specific reasons for which it is illegal to fire someone). Also, an employment contract can override that, in that it's possible for an employer's action to be legal in and of itself, but still be a breach of that particular employee's contract.
