Some of the villages near Llanelli are pretty alien, watching straight couples split into different rooms of the pub, then the midnight rites of...
I don't post much in the RR anymore as I'm not around enough to do much more than post-and-run, but I do take issue with the UK bit here. The EU is...
Not far from completing my first novel, and full of ideas for several others, so pretty good, thanks. Coming to the end of a few months off, and...
I think it was a play on power corrupting, and maybe even the militarisation of the police impacting how they behave. A decade of reflection without...
Well, the two most successful and regarded TOS movies either involved whales (TVH), or were based on books about a whale (TWOK), which offers a...
I've watched the last two now, Once La'an a Time was okay. An awful lot of hand waving about whys and wherefores, but ignoring that, it was okay....
Also caught Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die - a film that is very much a curate's egg. It's a time loop movie, one that looks to be the work of a...
Watched latest season of Reacher, at this point it's basically Final Fight: The Series, I mean last season had an actual Abigail in it. That said,...
Going to try and catch this, I like a good satire, but they're not usually the kind of film you chuck 8-9 figure budgets at and expect a return....
I've been rewatching the Man From UNCLE as it's on one of our many series of yesteryear channels. It's light entertainment, and sometimes I feel...
Read the first two books of Gemmell's Drenai series, Legend and King Beyond the Gate. They're okay, I tend to find the short-cut romance parts awful...
The irony being all those had some Trek DNA in them already. I think trying to replicate other heavily sci-fi would mostly be a bad move, looking at...
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. S31 was a just a poor attempt at action/humour, and Yeoh wouldn't have been a passive actor given the whole thing...
Point of order - TOS did sometimes challenge some ideas that progressives have held, both in eugenics and population control. The Fabians cheerfully...
I've still to see the last two episodes, now El Wifey is back we'll probably get to them before weekend, however I think I can comfortably say this...
It sounds like that, unless the plot is basically Shatner and everyone else is basically a minion, he's not interested. At his age, I give him a...
There's one on Sky Arts, wonder if that's the same? (that vids blocked in the UK) They've done some good ones of late about Belushi, Chase and...
I should have expanded. I usually post on here whilst doing something else, so sometimes I forget to expand, or even add words, and sometimes there's...
That asks why no one has encountered a Who villain in Star Trek, just use the literal deus ex machina of Trelane to do a 'Q Who' to another reality....
He's the gold standard for the original run, Baker, like Hartnell, had an interesting past and brought something of himself to the character - a...
Hmmm, I can get the numbers for some angel investors, and I used to have some contacts at the beeb... I'm not sure I could generate enough bullshit...
They did try to do a Who/Trek crossover! I mean, one on hand it might have been awesome, but on the other, probably not. An LD/Who would have...
Oh, The Shat doing Hallowed Be Thy Name would be something. But I want him covering South of Heaven, I want Shatner going full fucking Rocket Man on...
Don't try and place todays mores on people in the past. For starters, the Graun, the UK progressives paper of choice was fairly pro-slavery, mostly...
I was kind of surprised to discover Gen Z use it a lot, although having been soaked in 2000's hiphop and rap, maybe I shouldn't be. Quite of a lot of...
Anyone else seen this? Until El Wifey gets back from her holidays my usual watches are on pause, and given I loved the game, and it is by the guy who...
That was a wonderful ep, although I'm awaiting for some raging about a DEI Admiral taking the white mans victory from him  We got Kirk really...
It's lack of imagination. Imagine a few short Muppets special for Doomday - you can have Thor walking around the usual Muppet chaos looking for...
It's still genocide, but justifiable genocide. It's a take on the Trolley Problem, on with one branch being theoretical. If it's a choice of 5000...
Difference between now and then is volume of people and influence. I mean, in hindsight you can see on here how things changed over the years, from...
So, there's this limey playing a surrender monkey in charge, with a god fearin' American playing second fiddle and, get this, the Greek shrink is his...
IIRC The Reeves-Stevens managed to get a couple of good ideas in-between ghostwriting Shatner's dreams of boning much younger Klingon totty. The Borg...
Be more KLF.
Stepping outside the show, the Guardians prize obeying orders and not being questioned, it could be the Laurdian wanted to see if they could produce...
These scripts don't allow for much fat, so it's not unreasonable to think everything drives the narrative. Take Hal's suit, he used to wear it as we...
To an extent writing is probably a little awkward right now, poke the right, and X is filled with puce-faced keyboard-ragers with the cap lock...
I went to a restaurant last month, and had a steak so good I autographed the ceiling in cum. Went again last night, steak was good, not as good as...
Vanessa Baden Kelly has proclaimed the ring as sexist. I mean, if it is in this series, that's a writers choice, so as co-producer that's partially...
I doubt it's a misdirect, I was fairly sure early doors about her due to how she was introduced, but we'll see as things unfold. He's observant and...
There's a pile I'd say about Lanterns, especially around some of the producers comments around Bernadette, who plainly doesn't get she's a godawful...
