No, that has been the message for eight fucking years and Biden made it clear that he thinks half of the country is garbage. The reaction is to that message is a resounding fuck you. And now he's won the popular vote as well so it's clear that a majority of the people reject woke out of touch politicians.
Harris was also going to "close the border," and deport illegal migrants. Hell, the Biden administration has deported more illegal migrants than almost any previous administration this decade. So that leaves income tax. You voted for the "they're eating the pets!" guy because he promised to get rid of income tax?

I believe my own eyes and ears and I saw what the Biden/Harris administration did with illegal immigrants and it's clear to me what she was going to continue doing. She wasn't going to close the border and she wasn't going to deport people in any significant manner.

No one who says things like he'd enjoy watching members of the press get shot, or questioning the racial purity of a candidate, or slurring an entire culture, should ever get a reasonable person's vote. What you did was make assumptions that Harris wouldn't continue Biden's policies and you took Trump, a very well known and established liar on every front, at his word over income tax. I do expect some humility and recognition, perhaps eventually, from those responsible for genocide for a year that that was a red line for one section of voters that was lost. Yeah, no matter who the Dem candidate was, there are so many things about Trump that should be immediately disqualifying to any reasonable voter in and of themselves, let alone altogether. I traditionally vote strategically against the Conservative candidate in my riding, but if the Liberals ran Paul Bernardo and the NDP nominated Harvey Weinstein, I'd stay the fuck home or vote Rhinoceros. I wouldn't vote for a convicted serial rapist under any circumstances.

I don't think it's about "owning the libs," honestly. The fact is that Trump scratches a couple of itches for some people, and by some people I mean people who are not comfortable with the idea of living in a society where a black woman, a trans man, or an immigrant is allowed to have authority over them of any kind. There are Trump supporters who will say the economy, and that certainly is one aspect of it, but it's not just the economy. Almost every Trump supporter I know, and I have the unenviable fortune of knowing a great many of them, believe in the Great Replacement Theory. This is about insecure white people facing the specter of one day being in the minority. Trump offers respite from that, and even a promise to make America white again. So maybe it's "owning the libs," because cruelty and pride is definitely a perk, but that is going to be a very tiny sliver of the motivation. That's more a bonus than anything else. Trump offers white salvation from the brown hordes, and these people are going to leap for it like a dying man on a miracle cure.

As both a Christian (the Bible teaches over and over again that we should love immigrants as much as we love ourselves, that we should take care of them and provide for them) and a paleo-conservative American (meaning I still believe in the old ideas like "all men are created equal" and "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free"), I think the proper thing to do is to put in place a "shall issue" policy for those who apply for immigration. Unless there is a particular reason for refusing them (if they are known or reasonably suspected criminals, for example), they can come. That would solve illegal immigration very quickly, since there would be almost no reason for it. Those who oppose that policy show very clearly that they are not just against illegal immigration, they are against immigration. That is a kind of nationalistic chauvanism that can easily be assimilated to racism.

This is a blatant example of a straw-man argument. You don't have to be a "paragon of moral virtue" to be considerably better than Trump. To see you resorting to both-sides-ism is somewhat disappointing. Normally, you are much more reasonable than that.
This. I'm all about reaching out to the average person, I want us all to work together to build something where everyone thrives, but there has to be some point where you look around and say "fuck, these people are racist and they fucking revel in it."
I would agree with some who say the Democrats need a better way to reach their voters online. The Republicans are prolific when it comes to every crank conspiracy theory, out of context video, and plain misrepresenting the facts. And those things get shared over and over again. That’s how I found out about Obama’s tan suit, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the Haitians are eating the cats and dogs.
It's not a straw man. There has been no reckoning with the gravity of the crimes for which the Biden-Harris administration is responsible, certainly not among the posters I'm addressing who want to exonerate her of fault. They clearly aren't "the same" but nor is it possible to perform a tidy moral calculus to say that she is "better" or that her faults don't matter, as you appeared to claim in making this only about Trump.
