Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett is running for the US Senate in Texas.

I was really wishing Talarico would drop out of of the senate primary and run against Abbott. Now he and the next Mrs. shootER Crockett will have to compete in the senate primary.

I wish she’d stay in the House and run for the Speaker position.

The more I think about it, she's probably better suited to go against Paxton if he beats Cornyn in the primary. He'll run a dirty campaign and Crockett can go toe-to-toe with him better than Talarico, who's probably too nice a guy.

The little I've seen of Talarico he seems like Beto 2.0. Nice, bright, mainstream, non-threatening and...(wait for it) white! Beto got close, but no cigar. Crockett might not win, but AOC and Mamdani make it seem worth taking a shot on someone who's loud, scary and very black.

A couple months ago I stopped everything I was doing to watch Jasmine Crockett on Laura Coates show. I have no idea what they were talking about.

Not particularly close, either. Almost 60/40.

And the Dems just flipped a special election in Georgia.

But she might actually be good at it.

Still, she's not experienced enough for that yet. AOC is the obvious choice, but there are several others that would be really good and thus the old guard would never stand for.

I agree that Talarico is much better suited to take on Abbott, mores the pity.

I just looked at the list of Democrats running for governor in the primary and I don't recognize a single name, including a guy who was the Democratic candidate who lost to Rick Perry in 2006.

Texas has over 17 million registered voters spread across 23 media outlets. Youre not hitting all those people by door knocking and with all those media markets, 10 dollar donations alone arent going to cut it.

Basically, Utah GOP governor Spencer Cox has called Trump out on racist/sexist attacks on Ilhan Omar, saying that whilst he wants her out of office, that can be done by attacking her policies not her race/sex/religion.
