NOOOOOOO!!!!!! Not Johnson's career legacy!!!!!! OH NOOOOOO!!!!! However will I summon the energy to give a shit?!
Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett is running for the US Senate in Texas. I was really wishing Talarico would drop out of of the senate primary and run against Abbott. Now he and the next Mrs. shootER Crockett will have to compete in the senate primary.
When/if Jefferies takes the spot, it will provoke almost as outrage in the MAGAsphere as Obama becoming president. The very thought of Crockett as Speaker would be
The more I think about it, she's probably better suited to go against Paxton if he beats Cornyn in the primary. He'll run a dirty campaign and Crockett can go toe-to-toe with him better than Talarico, who's probably too nice a guy.
The little I've seen of Talarico he seems like Beto 2.0. Nice, bright, mainstream, non-threatening and...(wait for it) white! Beto got close, but no cigar. Crockett might not win, but AOC and Mamdani make it seem worth taking a shot on someone who's loud, scary and very black.
Mike Johnson tried to be 'Big Johnson' but just could not pull it off (sorry) so he can only be sad sack Mike Johnson. shame that
Annnnnnd....Miami has is first Democratic mayor in almost 30 years. Holy shit. Republicans should be shitting their pants right now.
A couple months ago I stopped everything I was doing to watch Jasmine Crockett on Laura Coates show. I have no idea what they were talking about.
But she might actually be good at it. Still, she's not experienced enough for that yet. AOC is the obvious choice, but there are several others that would be really good and thus the old guard would never stand for.
I just looked at the list of Democrats running for governor in the primary and I don't recognize a single name, including a guy who was the Democratic candidate who lost to Rick Perry in 2006.
"In order for me to take you seriously, I demand that you not do any of the things that might make it possible for you to win!" I'm so sick of people demanding that Democrats fight with one hand tied behind their backs.
Welcome to reality. Texas has over 17 million registered voters spread across 23 media outlets. Youre not hitting all those people by door knocking and with all those media markets, 10 dollar donations alone arent going to cut it.
An ‘AstroTurf Recruitment Process’: National Republicans Propped Up Jasmine Crockett to Push Her Into a Senate Run
There's that, but if she'd decided to run for the House again she would've had to move to a new district because the godsdamned gerrymander re-drew her old one to exclude her home.
Is this guy primary-able? Because I think Trump will be chomping at the bit to back his GOP opponents... https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/en...ilhan-omar-attacks_n_693aa793e4b053d6e8eeec6b Basically, Utah GOP governor Spencer Cox has called Trump out on racist/sexist attacks on Ilhan Omar, saying that whilst he wants her out of office, that can be done by attacking her policies not her race/sex/religion.
Well, here's an interesting thing I found while looking up the Stefanik story. But her bid became complicated this month by the entrance of Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman into the race for governor. Both Stefanik and Blakeman are Trump allies and the president has publicly praised both candidates as “great.” Blakeman’s campaign on Thursday announced it would begin airing ads during the week of Christmas in West Palm Beach — the location of the president’s Florida residence. That's right, candidates for governor of New York feel like they have to advertise in Florida just so their dementia-addled king will see them on TV.
"Everything Trump Touches Dies". It's amazing how many people ignore that simple, insightful warning and think that somehow they will be the ones who come out ahead.
I grew up in the heart of Jim Crow country and I heard slurs during family visits to Cleveland that I never heard in the south.
