well, at least now we have an illustrated demonstration of the libertarianism is the gateway to fascism theory.
One good thing about Trump winning is @Steal Your Face has gone full on public humiliation kink. God damne mister The boy, you might want to save some of that for the next four years. Our virtual feet will not get worn out into dayton nubs as far as I am aware and we have years of ass kicking waiting for you.
Probably would have done the same if Harris had been solidly elected. Doubt is over and traders know where to put the money now.
But …. But … That would mean that a thing isn’t in control. That a thing has multiple factors that contribute to success or failure. No. This is absolutely a situation in which the only reason for a success was because something FF wanted to happen, did happen and that’s why it happened.
Yeah, stocks went up after the 2020 election too. My 401k skyrocketed after November 2020, and it's starting to do the same thing now.
So what happens when you fire >200k people in the same month? And you classify them all as ‘performance based’ so they can’t get UI? I don’t know. But we are about to find out!
The Dow Jones has tumbled 1,200 points in the last 48 hours, mainly over fears of President's Trump looming tariffs and the pending fallout from all the federal layoffs. That President Trump sure is a financial genius! I mean, who wouldn't take economic advice from a guy whose business have gone bankrupt at least a half dozen times?
And inflation is rising against predictions, but Trump is quick to say it's Biden's fault. You know, we usually say the president can't have such a dramatic, immediate effect on the economy. But apparently we were wrong. Because yes he can.
Hell, our tax returns are already late, likely due to Trump and Musk's fuckery with the IRS. A lot of people rely on tax returns to catch up to bills that are way behind, or to pay for necessary things they can't otherwise afford. I keep carefully pointing out to the Trump guys at the market that this is all happening under Trump, and that Musk is the reason it's happening. I want to make certain people understand that this is solely Trump's responsibility, the buck stops at his desk.
A lot of people are worried. And angry. 200,000+ people fired in a month. SNAP and Medicaid on the chopping block. All aid programs and federal funding frozen. And millions of armed, scared, angry Americans.
Were going to be in a world of hurt soon. All these paychecks disappearing means lots of products that before would move will go off the shelves at a slower pace. It will then hit the private sector over and over again. Instead of the money circulating the money will sit in a billionaires bank account.
I predicted a few days ago on some news story comments section that I believe our Tiananmen Square moment will happen sometime in June. Stock up on food so you dont have to leave the house, you may not legally be able to.
Farmers are going to feel it bad. Prices for grain will plummet. They will stop producing if they can't make a profit. Grocery prices will go up. There may be shortages.
You know, I genuinely did not think it would get this bad. The thing I can't figure out is, what is the end goal? Surely if/ when things start heading this way, there will be a huge groundswell of resistance. If Trump is thinking to hold on to power, this will sink that. If he's thinking to take advantage for personal wealth, desire for recrimination against him will be sky high. So what's the goal?
Feudalism. One of the heads of Palantir (owned by Peter Theil) thinks that the surveillance state will make people more law abiding and that tech bros will be the new kings.
Except they keep firing the people working to get Bird Flu under control so it is possible that our egg supply will fall faster than demand.
