None of which makes those deaths any more acceptable. Accepting "terrorism" as a fact of life is wrong-headed at best.

Many Muslims are second/third generation, and we have converts as, like with Judaism, there is a blur between race and religion. Where, exactly, would you deport a white Muslim whose family have been here for centuries? We'd need a fucking time machine to deport them to Thuringia and Saxony. Muslims do an awful lot of good in the UK, and I'd hate to see it undone because of some nutters. And in this case I'm not on about the stabby and explody nutters.

BTW, this post wasn't endorsing some sort of mass deportation or the bullshit espoused by Dinner. I was lamenting the fact that no one yet seems to have figured out how to deal with these assholes, particularly when it turns out that they were on some sort of watchlist to begin with. And, knowing government, it means some sort of overreaction where TERRORISM! is used as a means to curtail rights. Just like the WAR ON DRUGS! was used in a similar fashion.

Yeah except it just came to light that England has foiled 5 credible attacks over the last few months. The notion that governments use kid gloves when it come to potential terrorists is asinine and untrue. That sort of shit is investigated heavily and frequently. Visiting London is still a dream of mine and my wife. She wants to see all the major, famous sites. I want to visit as many bookstores as possible. El Chup has said that its the best city in the world for bookstores. I want to take 2 or 3,000 dollars (or equivalent euros) to do nothing but buy books and magazines. I bet I could purchase enough reading material to keep me busy for a couple of years.

I figure 1,000 dollars (or equivalent) would get me anywhere from 30-100 books or 50 books and say 100 magazines give or take. So many great magazines are published in United Kingdom.
