They go after other Muslims - because those other Muslims don't share their particular interpretation of Islam.
You say that as if there's only one flavor of muslim. There are just as many muslim sects as there are christian, and for as many stupid reasons.
Exactly. 99.9% of Muslims don't share their particular interpretation of Islam. They're like WBC, but with violence. In light of that, do you think it's better to describe the fight against ISIS as Islam against everyone else, or one group of extremist, power-hungy cunts against everybody else, including Islam?
Muslims need to speak up against terrorism. Wait. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/06/05/europe/imams-london-burial/
Me? ISIS/Al Queda et al is one type of radical terrorist Muslims, against everyone in the world who doesn't share their exact, misguided interpretation of Islam, including other, non-radical Muslims. The world's fight is (should be) against their radical interpretation and the horrifying people who follow it. It's only a war against Islam to the extent that we should wipe out that radical, extremist philosophy that likes to randomly kill people.
I'm pretty certain that none of the people involved in carrying out that massacre either directly or indirectly are still alive.
Christians were not granted the authority to kill for God. You are thinking of atheists who think they are Christians.
Uh, dubious claim, considering the many hymns with a war motif in them. And yes, I realize that they're mostly metaphorical, but the idea of martyrdom is still a relished one.
I see the usual gang of idiots is still desperately trying to argue the false equivalency of islamofascist muslims to Christians. Only in the fevered delusions of pathetic shut-ins like Dickynoo are everyday American Christians similar to muslims raised in islamic cultures. Even those you might describe as "moderate" muslims have been hopelessly acculturated into islamic society, and islamic society (no matter how "moderate" it may be in comparison to hard-line muslim regions) is still totally, completely, 100% incompatible with Western ideals & democracy.
You sound almost exactly like a hardcore islamist. You do realise that the difference in mindset between a supporter of islamic terrorism and yourself is almost zero? The same thinking, the same arguments, the same type of hatred
but with one very subtle difference, that being Flashlight won't be getting fitted for an explosive vest anytime soon.
Thats why I used the phrase 'supporter of islamic terrorism'. Someone who cheers from the sidelines whilst other people get their hands dirty....
Is there a large organization of them trying to take over a section of the world trough terror and mass murder while spreading terrorism to other countries? If so, yes. And I mean NOW, not in the 10th or 12th century.
Hmmm. Flashy is wrong that moderate Islam is incompatible with Western society, yet is right on the equivalence with Christian lunatics. All religions have their problem lunatic fringes, but trying to offset the fact that Islam is a vector for a particularly unpleasant strain of the disease by pointing at others is just nuts. Nothing wrong with pointing out the similarity between Christian Nutter Bob and Islamic Nutter Ashif, but they're individuals, trying to compare the groups though just obfuscates solutions. And by solutions, I don't mean any final ones.
You are baiting me by choosing only those descriptors that apply to the US as of about 12 years ago, but I refuse to make that comparison.
No, I was describing the world situation now. I had no intention of baiting anyone - I doubt I have the conversational skill for that, as I'm sure most of you know. Also, I spoke of wiping out their ideology, not killing them all. Though in ISIS' case, either is fine with me. What Christian organizations are you thinking of, that compare equally with ISIS or Al Queda's actions? The KKK? I'd love to wipe out their ideology too. far as I can tell, though, they're not ISIS-like in their ability to mount a military campaign to take over a region, and inspire international cells or lone-worlf mass attacks.
ISIS does need to be wiped out, most urgently. Part of the fight against ISIS is the battle of words against their Fifth Column in the West, who help spread the lie that ISIS represents the only true interpretation of Islam and all Muslims.
The difference between the KKK and ISIS is the fact that even in the more secular Muslim countries there's not even a pretense regarding separation of church and state. It's no coincidence that these cretins felt a lot more emboldened to come out of the woodwork when there was a major Presidential candidate who was spewing their party lines for them.
Agreed on both counts. My point was this: You rightly point out that we're not at war with Islam; we are at war with a tiny, tiny minority within Islam, and we're at war with them because they kill spuriously. But that is reason enough to want to stop them, by wiping out them or their beliefs. That they also happen to be Muslims is completely immaterial. Any Christian, Jew, atheist, or follower of the Spaghetti monster who intends to murder other people, organised or alone, needs to be stopped.
