Hi, everyone... I have no link yet as this has just broken, but Senator Biden's mom is dead. But I think we can all have sympathy for him losing a parent. Rest in peace, ma'am. Edit: Sorry, it was his mother-in-law. Still sad.
I believe it's his mother-in-law, not mother--that's whose illness forced him from the campaign trail this weekend. edit: yeah, it's his mother in law. Not that the difference matters. It's family either way.
Sheesh, that's bad. It isn't like Biden hasn't been through some rough times before. My condolences. a.
Gotta feel bad for anyone who loses their mom (i.e. Biden's wife) but it was reported as an extended illness and in my experience those deaths are easier to process because they were not sudden, and because of the relatives relief from unpleasant conditions
Biden's mother in law was in hospice care, so everyone definitely knew this was coming. To the extent that you can prepare for these things, the Bidens were prepared.
^I dunno, I think that if I had to go I'd want it sudden, for relief from unpleasant conditions. Maybe I'm selfish like that.
I dunno. My Grandpa's been in hospice care since early 2006. I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.
Are you sure? Hospice care is generally taken to mean palliative care for a terminal condition. It means that the disease is no longer treated, just the symptoms, and people don't generally go into hospice care unless they have six months or less to live. The point of hospice care is to help people die in as little pain as possible in surroundings as comfortable as possible.
Well lets hope Biden dosen't blame it on Bush and McCain. I know that seems cold..but we gone beyond being nice anymore...when the Left attack infants with Down syndrome all bets are off.
When hospice was helping my dad, he only survived a couple of months. It's sounds cold, but in a way it was a blessing. I don't think he wanted to live a long time in the condition he was in. I was also lucky, I flew home and had a chance to visit a couple of weeks before he died.
I don't think it sounds cold, because it often is a blessing. In some ways, it's probably nice to know it's coming, because then you can take care of the things you want to take care of ... but after a certain point, I think I would just want to go.
