Iran said Israel had until 4 am local time to stop the attacks before Iran would agree to the ceasefire. Isreal launched another attack around 4:30 am local time on Tehran. Sounds like there is no ceasefire?
I believe it. I don't believe the Trump Administration has done anything to make government efficient, though. That's what I wss getting at.
Where did you hear this? Because Israel and Iran are 1.5 hours apart (depending on the time of year) and usually these kind of international agreements go off of GMT insuring everyone is on the same page time wise.
Well the idea for people like Trump is to make the government as inefficient as possible so they can sell it off piecemeal to any corporate buyer with enough cash to line their wallets. It's why Trump has chosen people who specifically hate the departments they're running. It would be like putting a sadist in charge of the office's health and well-being. A functioning government might mean people want to keep it. The US postal service used to be one of the most efficient government services until congress began saddling it with expenses it couldn't possibly handle in order to sink it, letting private companies step in and deliver half the quality for five times the price.
So Iran just sent a salvo of missiles at Israel. But their Foreign Minister seems to be saying it is compliant with the reported Ceasefire Agreement and that Iran will abide by it.
CNN, and the Iran Foreign Minister's Twitter, ironically. But you're right it could be a time zone thing.
In fact, this was the Tweet I was referring to. Not sure what local time he posted it at, but Israel hit Tehran around 4:30 am Tehran time. So again, sounds to me like Iran doesn't think it has a ceasefire.
My suspicion seems to have been once again correct. Trump announced a ceasefire without any agreement from at least one of the sides fighting. His statement included the bizarre idea that Israel was allowed to keep firing for longer than Iran was. So, something might come of this but it will moreso be in spite of Trump. It will be good news, and yet the genocide in Gaza continues.
Speculation is that Trump may have told Israel a ceasefire was being announced, rather than asking them to agree to one, as a bit of a slap back for Israel pulling the US into strikes when Trump was still trying to do negotiations and make a deal. Don't think I buy it, but it's nice to imagine.
If they were in fact forced into a ceasefire against their will, as of just now it seems that they may be going with "Iran violated the ceasefire" as an excuse to get out of it...
So ... your evidence for your assertion about the left is that a right-winger made up a meme that makes the same assertion?
ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES “I gotta get Israel to calm down now,” Trump said as he left the White House, Reuters reports. “Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I’ve never seen before, the biggest load that we’ve seen. “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.” Profanity included. Hmmm. This is standard practice for Israel right before a ceasefire takes effect. It's something for Trump to call them out on it.
As I recall there were "reports" that Biden wasn't happy with NuttyYahoo, or that Biden was 'putting pressure' on NuttyYahoo, etc. but it all turned out to be a big ol' pack of lies. Biden never 'put pressure' on NuttyYahoo or tried in any substantive way to curb "Israel's" murderous genocidal impulses... in fact just the opposite. It's the same with Trump; despite the public displays of disagreement with NuttyYahoo behind the scenes they're working together to commit more atrocities. Just as Biden pretended to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia that was merely a delaying action to give them time to arm/prepare Ukraine for war any "deals" Trump says he's trying to make with Iran are equally disingenuous. Same as it ever was.
US president Donald Trump said on Tuesday that both Israel and Iran violated a ceasefire he announced hours earlier and he was not happy with either country but especially Israel, Reuters reports.
This is all Iran's fault because after Israel violated the ceasefire they said "no tag backs." What did Iran do? They tagged back. That's NOT ALLOWED after "no tag backs" is called!
I'm imagining this over a meme of a 50's sitcom dad scolding his 50's sitcom sons (both with blonde buzz-cuts, and sad puppy dog eyes) after they broke a neighbor's window with their baseball.
I hope they can brief Trump on this development without him losing his shit and/or falling asleep. Maybe they should give him a Happy Meal first. If has a good listener, he can play with the toy after the briefing.
Exclusive: Early US intel assessment suggests strikes on Iran did not destroy nuclear sites, sources say https://www.yahoo.com/news/exclusive-early-us-intel-assessment-193907833.html Wow. Who could have predicted this.
So you're implying, what, that I'm cheering for disaster? I'm not. But I'm not going to sugarcoat failure either. And this whole Iranian situation is a failure so far.
