It's not fatalist at all, it's an observation of what has been going on in many marginalized communities. We've been on the ground facing these people, listening to their bigotries, watching them become enraged because we exist. None of this is new, none of this was caused by any of the marginalized communities, this is all at the feet of white supremacists and their ilk, and they don't need us to hate us, and that is the way it has been for a long time. This is nothing new at all. You say they face legal, cultural, and political obstacles, and that's fine to believe, but at the end of the day, things that are illegal tend to be pushed aside, as they often have. It is possible to believe all three of these things at once: 1) That Charlie Kirk should not have been shot. 2) That Charlie Kirk was a hateful person who dedicated his life to spreading lies and harming others. 3) That there is some irony in this happening to a person who opined that some people dying from gun violence was "worth it."

Obviously we'll have to see what comes out, but there are a couple of pretty interesting things about that report — and the phrasing. First of all, "transgender ideology" is a phrase that is pretty much exclusively used by the right, and it's exactly the phrase that a commentator would use if they were making something up with the intention of pushing a specific narrative. Second, it is, at the very least, interesting that the alleged evidence points at two of the right wing's favorite bogeymen — one of which, antifa, really hasn't been at the forefront of public dialogue lately, but that always occupied an oversized place in their own imaginations.
