Cheney to retire for health reasons, and Bush to name McCain as his replacement.

He was elected. Twice. In his first election, he did not obtain a unanimous vote of the electoral college, however, because the state of New York did not send delegates. (They hadn't succeeded in settling on how they should be chosen.)

He was the only US President who was never elected either as president of vice president. However, there have been a fair number of presidents who were never elected president, because they were elected VP and moved up to the post. Gerald Ford was never elected to any national or even state-wide office. He never even ran for any such office. He was only the US representative of the district around Grand Rapids, MI. As such, only the people in the GR area ever got the chance to vote for or against him (other than the congressional members who approved him as VP).

Yup. That's my point. He was some damn male model/football star/senator who was appointed Vice President like, days before the President resigned. totally blatant Illuminati fix. :tinfoil:

It is odd that none of the Bush Administration people are running alright.

Meh. I don't think Cheney resigns...but he does, they'd find some lightweight to be VP. They don't want to go through the hearings nastiness that Condi would engender. There's no profit to it.

Let's not forget that PK has had a hard on for McCain for years, so this might be wishful thinking. ;)

Everyone's talking about Bush picking McCain. But lemme put it like this:

If YOU were running for president, would you want to position yourself closely to George W. Bush? :chris:

You are all wrong, he will appoint the hildebeast. The fix has been in since the last election. Look at how Bush has cozied up to the Clintons and even to Algore.

The Illuminati/Tri-Lateral Commission have it all set out.

Is McCain even RUNNING for President anymore? The polls seem to think otherwise.

Washington was elected by ALL the members of the electoral college.

The only president ever to win all the electors.

Ford was the only president to take office who had not been elected President OR Vice President.

Personally, I'm hoping for the latter.

I did, before he lost his spine and started phishing for the Conservative votes. I loved him at his true nature: Maverick that votes for what he believes is right, no matter which side it was on.

Now he is just doing what ever he thinks will get him votes.

    He is now a politician.

No. The 25th Amendment only pertains to a vacancy in the Presidency.

Technically, if he did step down, Bush wouldn't even have to nominate a replacement. He might not, considering the hostile Congress.
