It should be illegal to serve a steak cooked beyond medium. [/sarcasm] I prefer medium-rare with salt and black pepper and a pat of garlic butter on top. As for well-done, if I wanted a hockey puck or the leather sole of a shoe, that's what I'd order and save the money.

Against all odds I've found myself losing the taste for steak altogether recently, but when I do eat it it's on the rare side of medium rare with either pepper sauce or garlic, mushrooms and onions.
