I never watched the show, I know who he is, was, I was hoping the best for him. He seemed like one of the more decent people in Hollywood. I'm aware that he was struggling with cancer. This is sad.
How fucking broken is America that a Hollywood star depleted pretty much all of his money fighting cancer. RIP James Van Der Beek.
Big oof. although I was of the demographic that grew up with this show, I never watched it but somehow this one still feels like a kick in the childhood.
I want to point out that dude reportedly spent a lot of money on "alternative" treatments. Colon cancer can be treatable, assuming it's caught in time, and what type it is. I don't know, maybe dude was doomed from the moment he got his first polyp, or maybe he would have survived if he'd gotten standard treatment early on. Supposedly, there's some fishy things involving his wife, like she's more into things like crystals healing you than medicine. I don't know, but I will say that this pic of the family is giving off some weird vibes. Another thing that I'll point out is that until RFK started fucking shit up, folks were looking at using mRNA to create tailored vaccines to help people with cancer. Dude might have been able to get himself into a research study for such things if RFK hadn't fucked it all up.
