I have finished my electrical engineering degree and should now have a life again. Working long hours and going to school, even an online school is crazy demanding. I cannot believe the I have finished it. Now I should have time to check in here at WF. First, I would like a roll call of those here who remember me. I know that we lost Tamar and I had actually met Maud Dib and was shocked at his passing when I checked in over a year ago. Who owns the board now? Who has been banned? Who got pissed of and left like "The Lurker"? I need to be filled in on all the detail. EP
Anc owned the place for awhile, and stepped down as mod. Can't recall if he sold out or not. Gul was in charge for awhile, and he got pelted with tomatoes, and left in a huff. El Chup left over...something. I lost track of the stuff he was butt-hurt about. Demiurge rage quit twice over a still image Faceman posted from South Park. It was pitiful, we all laughed. Umm...that's all I can remember.
Oh, Tex was one of the owners, but he quietly drifted away. As did Mr & Mrs Flow. Uncle Albert vanished. Mrs. Albert still posts. Borgs was un-banned and showed up once for an anniversary!! That was weird!
Gturner got banned and people on both sides of that decision left. We had a guy named @Nono post here for a while but couldn't get past the free-for-all posting and he flounced on the FB page. El Chup left because we wouldn't ban Dinner for being a bigot, despite his usual laywerballing over gturner. Very little of value was lost. @Caedus or however he spells it came back from what we all assumed to be terminal cancer six YEARS ago. Volpone is still a closet gay. Ramen left after posting a lynching photo and tagging me for it. Dinner, neé ConfederateSon has long eclipse Tasvir as the board's most tiresome racist. He would've made Sokar so proud. ...yeah, I think that's it.
By "racist" she means I criticized Islam which is a religion not a race. We are still taking baby steps to teach her that words have real meanings and to try to use them correctly. It is a slow process.
I'm still here, but no one cares, because they're bad at priorities. 80% of all Red Room posts are now about Dayton3, for some reason. A poster who claims to be Teh Baba showed up somewhat recently, but whether or not he's the real deal is a topic of some debate. Public opinion leans toward "really Baba." God also posts here now occasionally. He claims he's someone's dual, but we're all pretty sure it's really God.
Well, it's official. FedEx delivered my Diploma. It's been a long time coming. The bride and I went out to outback and ran up a pretty high bill.
Nice! I'm assuming you and the wife worked things out? I seem to remember you both having some strain. You also cut back on the drinking the last time you were here....how ya doing on that front?
I don't remember that. My wife has 2 degrees and I did things while she went to school, so it was not a big deal. I still drink and never really have went that far overboard with it. It is good to be done. I walk the walk in Kansas city for the commencement at the end of the month. Grantham was a pretty good online university and the only one that I found that was ABET accredited for the course of study I wanted. ABET is the big thing for engineering. It means that you can become an Licenced professional engineer on day. I hope you have been well since getting out of the Navy, Anna. I know you were into Anime and got to see Japan. Is't it the Mecca of that stuff? EP
The plant manager shook my hand and congratulated me yesterday in a meeting with a lot of the brass in there. I was not expecting it an was a little bit red faced. In 2 weeks I head out to Kansas City and walk the walk, I already have my regalia. We are going to make a vacation of it and see what KC has to offer. I would like to take in a Royals game if we can. Or a pig snoot sandwich . The KC cops all have to go there and eat a snoot as initiation.
Yes, it is the real me. I am just back from a busy week of visiting Kansas City. Saturday evening I walked finalized the whole thing at the Muriel Kaufman Theater for the performing arts. My god what a fancy place. Lots of GIs and former GIs graduating. Only 3 of us EEs turned up in KC for the show out of the 300 that were there. the whole graduating class was 1500. One of the most heartbreaking things was that we found that there would have been 4 of us, but one lady passed away (they did not say why) and she had two little girls that came up on stage and accepted her Diploma. Boy, that broke me down. Anyone ever visiting the area, I can tell you great places to go. We went to a Royals game Thursday night and they came from behind to beat the Mariners and it was great. Truman Library was awesome, and they have a huge WWI memorial and museum there that they make the tickets good for two days because of the size of it. Went to the Federal reserve and saw them working with the money and shredding it. They give out free bags of shredded money too. The hard part is that I walked Saturday night and then sunday made the 850 mile drive back here to Asheville and got home around 11 and up at 5 for work. Great time. Regards, EP
I've seen his email and the one on the original Baba account. If it's a fake, the person sure put a helluvalot of work into it.
