WH, Denny’s, and Shoney’s are all basically the same thing. Even IHOP to a degree. Waffle House gets the shit because most are in the south and since it’s warm all year round, you’re more likely to end up there on a random tuesday morning at 3 am than somewhere where 3 am might have negative temps.
I'd say Waffle House gets the shit because it is visibly of a lower quality than the others. And that's not to dump on it, because it's also the cheapest. But it sure have a reputation. The Waffle House near me had a reputation because when I was in college, two employees were shot, killed, and stuffed in the freezer during a robbery. Everyone I knew called it the Murder House for years.
Really? There’s a Brown’s Chicken in one of the suburbs of Chicago near where I used to live. Probably 30 years ago the place was robbed and I want to say 5 people were killed and stuffed in the walk-in. The place was still in business when I moved away a couple years ago. Everyone knew about the place, everyone talked about it. And still people still ate there. It was weird. Anyway, I didn’t find much difference in the quality of food at any of those places. Granted, I was most likely drunk every time I ate at any one of them.
That's cute, but it doesn't change the fact that shoplifting losses are a consideration, and communities do a lot to help "food deserts" into existence. And you can get by cheaper buying whole ingredients and cooking in bulk. "But I'm too busy working three jerbs to support my five kids while making minumim payments on a pile of credit card debt! " Who's fault is that?
I've spent 48 years living on the same mudball as you. You might be more inclined to make excuses for them, but if you're honest you'll admit most people are where they are as a result of their own choices.
i am not making excuses for anybody i am pointing out that YOU ain't no expert............................ that was the point. 48? wait until you get my age and discover you can't depend only on yourself.
At that point I will have no more use for my own existence. I don't have to claim to be an expert to observe people everywhere I go. It's not for no reason that my "benefit of the doubt" is depleted.
it appears naiveté is the source of the confidence you posses........ so you say you will commit suicide rather that let you self get this old??? really ......what you post here are not 'observations' they are blanket statement of 'fact' (as you see it) and recognize no exceptions also YOUR statements allow for no 'benefit of the doubt' because it seems you never doubt yourself so please do not ask for something you do not provide
we aren't talking about shoplifting losses (which doesn't change the facts of nor drive pricing in any menaingful way compared to wastage or whim). let's try to keep the goal posts in the stadium, especially when it's the only one within a walkable distance. sweetcheeks, that is buying whole ingredients and cooking in bulk (which invariably also creates a higher degree of wasted food from spoilage). Although you're presuming that folks have adequate cooking equipment and facilities... y'know how you get an eye twitch about being "privileged"? well, here it is showing again. groceries have gone up an average of 25% while baseline rents have gone up 50% in the last five years. have your wages? This simply isn't sustainable-it's the consumers being consumed. (while we're at it, food insecurity/food banks have gone up over 50% in that period) There's a reason that a supermarket magnate is one of the most reviled men in Canada... Many of us feel the same way... Not being an expert (or capable of knowing what to look for in the first place) is fine. You might have to evolve your opinions if you ever did... Your observations of people seem to come from no further than a television set. Interesting that your hypothetical three jerbs/five kids is most likely a woman who's a sole provider (while somehow still collecting child support from up to as many men? or is that dependent on the point you're trying to evade?).
Maybe the common denominator is you. We've all had trials and tribulations, and losses, and we didn't shrivel into a little ball of hate like you.
I'm not letting my fitness go just because I'm getting old. I have observed human behavior, and I'm immune to the excuses. Experience has taught me that people lie, rationalize and make excuses. Your mileage may vary.
I haven't travelled the globe, but I've been across and down the continent. I am not sheltered or inexperienced.
Huh. I'll bet you aren't nearly as well-traveled as you let on, even limiting it to the continental USA. But even aside from that. I wonder: Ever been inside a mosque? Ever go to any ethnic markets? Ever spent time in an area that is racially different from your own? Ever been to an LGBT event? Ever been socially involved with an immigrant family? Ever spent time inside a prison?
Maybe you weren't talking about shoplifting, but I was. And yes the fuck it does factor into pricing and closures. What, are they giving birth in a fucking covered wagon? How low am I supposed to set the bar here? Save money. Anticipate bad times and eliminate luxuries. Function like an adult if you want the freedom of an adult. You can keep insisting that I would agree with you if I had any expetience with people, but you're wrong. I've been plenty of places, worked with plenty if people , interacted with even more.
To do what, live alone in a one- bedroom apartment? Are you just mad his mom still likes his company?
No, I don't go out of my way to endure religious ritual. Pay tourist prices for some generic crap because the labels aren't in english? Nah. That's only "exotic" to suburban soccer moms . My "town" has a wide variety of races. No, but working overnights at Kwik Shop in a bar-heavy district ought to count. One of my babysitters was a Pakistani family. No. And there is no value in doing so.
And you literally just proved my point. Your actual experience is so limited, you have such a myopic view of the world, that it's no wonder you are completely incapable of empathy.
I didn't say it was a tough job. You really do love to brag about yourself. It's more nerve racking than anything. Oh and I've done my fair share of manual labor. Fuck off.
You open yourself up to mockery when you say things like "I doubt most of WF would last long". How do you think people on here would respond to that?
Oh MAY I your majesty? Fuck off with your Cowardly Lion with a broken-vase-crown shtick. You kick and thrash against the narcissist label, then step into the dictionary definion like a boot.
I think they would respond like assholes, like you because the majority of people here are arrogant assholes.
