This. Like I said, it's soulless. There's little to no love, empathy, or warmth, it's all old memes and paint by numbers. The show's a corpse of it's zombie self.

Compared to, say, the Music Man parody in "Marge vs. the Monorail," it's kind of lyrically clumsy.

All of these are fantastic, creative, and clever. They put this latest one to shame.

Edit: I tried to fix it, but it looks like you can only post 5 videos. "A Fish Called Selma" has my personal favorite musical, "Planet of the Apes" starring Troy Maclure.

If you close your eyes, it sounds exactly like a terrible Family Guy bit.

Family Guy's musical parodies are generally pretty on-point (with "A Bag of Weed" for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's "Me Ol' Bamboo" being possibly the best).

Stopped watching the Simpsons regularly probably 20 years ago.

Futurama, on the other hand, was consistently great from first episode to last. Just a way more interesting show with a much broader canvas to play in.

I still like the Simpsons Treehouse Of Horror episodes because they tend to do more off the wall stuff...

I found out that all the musical bits are recorded with a full 40 piece orchestra, which is amazing attention to detail.

I'm hoping The Orville does a musical episode eventually.
