I like driving. In the days of $1.25/gallon gas, I used to take a Sunday afternoon and just drive around the Iowa/Illinois/Missouri border region, finding random small towns along the Mississippi to explore.

Driving is also the only time I can really listen to things like podcasts, because the fact that I can't get distracted by second-screening makes it possible to actually absorb them. And I enjoy the alone time.

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how many horror movies start off... including my personal favorite House of 1000 Corpses.

It probably doesn't help that my next door neighbor's granddaughter was squished by a drunk driver.
And three of my classmates were squished distracted driving.
And 75% of my cats were run over.
And my parents ran over a dog when my mother was in labor for me, so my arrival on this planet was bathed in the blood of animal sacrifice by car.
