Runoff election here today between a MAGA/Greg Abbott-backed Republican and an Air Force veteran, lesbian Democrat. The Democrat won and it wasn't really close.
Was this the mayor’s race? Saw something about it earlier. Congrats. Also didn’t realize SA was the 7th largest city in the US.
Yes, sorry. I should've clarified. Several runoff elections today for city council positions but the mayor's race was the big one. In May there were 27 candidates for mayor. SA has been the 7th largest for a very long time, but that's just the city itself. The metro area is 24th (and the Nielsen market size is 31) because outside of the city it's just small rural towns. The joke is that beyond the county line, we mainly broadcast to livestock.
Ah. So a Jacksonville. 10th most populous city in the country, most populous in Florida and then also the largest city by land area in the country. Metro area is 40th by pop, they just annexed everyone around them.
President Biden never needed to send National Guard troops to LA for protests, and trump REFUSED to send them to the Capitol on January 6th.
This matters nought. Trump's supporters WANT to see him crush the libs. If a Dem did it, meh. They don't even want the rubber bullets exploding eyes or the bones around the eyes. They want actual bullets. They're literally salivating at the thought of libs getting shot. TLS is just itching to ram his car into protestors, and he's a fucking liar if he claims otherwise. Which he will, with a sad emoji, like we believe he's really a man of God.
