Anyone interested in the actual history of Superman should watch this documentary that came out back when Superman Returns released. It is very well done and has everyone from Mark Hamill to Stan Lee to Gene Simmons(yes, even THAT guy) commenting on the character. Keep in mind this came out almost 20 years ago and the immigrant parallel is talked about quite a bit here. I guess Gene Simmons is woke for being an immigrant and identifying with the character in that way.
