I can tell you from personal knowledge that in Miami they are targeting construction zones.
My mom actually warned my dad to start carrying his passport card with him. Technically that won't stop ICE from detaining a guy with an accent, but it's better than nothing.

If this was motivated by anything other than racism, you might have a point. At its heart, MAGA is a Christian white nationalist movement led by a cult of personality. "Blood and soil." They don't want to just secure the borders and make people immigrate legally; they want to hurt people.

First of all, placating Trump is a bad idea.
Secondly, one of the biggest (racist) arguments Trump has made about these deportation is that they're getting rid of all the unwanted, violent criminals being sent to us.
And so he starts with...Indians?!?
It just highlights that this was never really about safety.

Small MS town of around 6k, has three VERY nice Mexican restraints that do bang-up business (nicer and busier than any other place in town but the steakhouse that's only open 3 nights a week.

Feds rousted all three of them (and likely the more obscure storefront places) today because, ya know, gotta hit that quota. I'm going to laugh bitterly if all these bigoted locals that love Trump lose one or more of their favorite places before this shit is done.

Christ, the people around here are so fucking awful about it. When I was at the market this past weekend, lots of gloating about Trump making "them go back where they belong."
We're surrounded by Latino folks, at least half of our market has Latino vendors of every stripe, and so I worry about what might happen to them, and the white fuckers who are gleefully talking about "clearing the market out for the honest people," and of course they mean anyone and everyone whose skin is slightly brown, including Haitians who are lovingly referred to as "the pet eaters."

You lose faith in humanity, sometimes, especially when this shit is what you see.

In the Chicago area we dont know how many have been deported because the numbers are a secret.

I'm certainly not motivated by racism. I'm married to a legal immigrant for more than 20 years. In my opinion, anyone willing to follow the rules and come here legally is welcome to be my neighbor. But I'm sure that others here will claim otherwise.

Hurting people wouldn't be very Christian. How are they looking to hurt people? By repatriating people who broke our laws? Most people would call that justice. I'm sorry, but most of the arguments here are based on emotion, not logic or the law.
