With zero self reflection, because when your politics are just grievances formed in the moment, there's never any need to be consistent. They can't be hypocrites, because even hypocrites have basic principles that they cross to get what they want. These people don't even have that, they just have fits of rage, tantrums, and they only feel better when the objects of their tantrums are punished, whether it's so-called "criminals" or a 5 year old child dying of cold and exposure in a prison because it had the temerity to exist.
Several newspaper opinion pieces here in Germany this morning suggest that what Trump may be after escalating this further is a pretence to invoke the insurrection act, send troops to Minnesota, and ultimately cancel elections. That’s mainstream newspapers, normally serious to the point of being boring, far from conspiracy theory minded. One pretty conservative, all traditionally staunchly pro-American. Others adding that in other parts of the world, we‘d be talking about death squadrons. And in this particular part of the world, looking back a bit, about brown shirts.
That's the general consensus here in the states as well. And why Governor Walz has not reacted more aggressively and has called for Minnesotans to remain peaceful (which they thankfully have). Unfortunately, given that the Trump administration readily lies, they will come up with something to invoke the Insurrection Act and attempt to cancel elections regardless. Fortunately, elections are a clearly state-run matter. Unfortunately, the Trump administration has made clear that they face no consequences for circumventing the law thanks to bootlickers like @Paladin.

We all know the time honored tradition that the “officer” feared for his life and there were no other options available. As this story continues to unravel, I don’t think you can make the case that ICE was engaged in a law enforcement action. They bungled another one of their missions, so instead of packing up shop and leaving the area they started harassing US. citizens.
