A brain-dead Republican Senator would actually be one of the BETTER ones. It's like the difference between having a car that doesn't run and a car that will explode and kill you as soon as you turn the key in the ignition
His spokesperson put out a piece today saying McConnell appreciates the outpouring of support he’s received. We all know ain’t nobody in the US sending him messages of support.
This thread makes some interesting points: 1.) In every major city, like DC, there are oodles of people, press, hobbyists, and the like, who listen to police/fire scanners, none of them heard the call to go to Mitch's place. 2.) TMZ, which just opened an office in DC not too long ago, gets a lot of scoops like this, and has teams that rush to the areas when something comes over the scanner. They didn't do that with Mitch. 3.) Local authorities refuse to comment on Mitch's call at all, while on Graham's they say they can't answer questions due to HIPAA.
Now, let’s say that Mitch is still alive, still capable of holding a conversation and making sense while doing so. The easiest way for his team to end all debate would be to have someone like Joe Biden, or Adam Schiff, or other Democratic lawmaker, do a short, on camera interview with Mitch in his hospital room. Both of them there, it’s a quick in and out so Mitch isn’t overtaxed. Yet, they’re not doing that. Why? Could it be that they’re using this to distract us from something else? Like the Epstein files? Or that we’re still at war with Iran?
