Nope. Nevermind. I have been wrong this entire time. Americans suck. We deserve all of this.

I mean, I live in Maine where we grow potatoes that aren't good for much more than chipping.
We used to have a Humpty Dumpty factory right here.
    School fieldtrips were required.
I've got no perspective on what city-folk in other states didn't learn.

It's...maybe conceivable. Egg creams don't have eggs.
    Clam cakes are clamburgers, really.
    Names can be deceptive.

    ...naw, it's stupid.

I'm growing some potatoes at the moment, if it's a good harvest might use a couple.of them to try doing my own potato crisps.

We have the Grippo's chip factory around where I live, and any time I drive by it, you can smell the deliciousness. Their barbecue chips are top notch. Addictive as hell.
Up north from here is the Mikesells chip factory, and it also smells fantastic. Their green onion chips are the best around.

I used to work in what was called Nalley Valley, it would either smell of pickles or peanut butter cookies. I was thinking maybe they made chips, but now I'm not sure.
I can only eat tortilla chips now or sweet potato chips.
The statistic doesn't surprise me as at one point it was revealed many kids didn't know where vegetables came from or how they were grown.

Honestly considering what the food corporations pass off to consumers as food, I'm surprised there is even any potato in potato chips anymore.

Meanwhile, our newest Supreme Court Justice said she couldn't figure out what a woman was and the House Minority Leader set off a fire alarm, trying to figure out how to operate a door.

    Lies as usual.

Trump got 49.8% of the popular vote to Harris’ 48.3%. Smallest popular vote margin in half a century.

In contrast in 2020 Biden got 51.3% to Trump’s 46.8%

42% is about Trump’s approval rating at the moment though.

So yeah, plenty of morons in this country.

probably on par with other nations that are lacking a decent public education system...
although at 31st world wide, you're already walking that ledge. probably the private schools dragging you down given the only standard they have to meet is their own..

It's interesting to me, the dichotomy you people encompass.
Public education sucks. Right. So the majority of Trump voters are uneducated, then? Borderline illiterate? Is that what you are saying? And did you go to public schools? How would you rank your own intellectual ability, I wonder?

And then we have higher education, which is somehow a liberal indoctrination machine that also managed to spit out JD Vance, Ted Cruz, Mitch McConnell, George W. Bush, Ron DeSantis, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul...And oh yeah, Charlie "Block With Your Neck" Kirk.

As if to make my point, the U.S. spends more per pupil than other countries, and outcomes have gotten steadily worse.
Gosh, you're right. I can't understand why people with the ability to choose keep sending their kids to private schools.

Don't they know that if you want high standards, you have to go with the government product?

I had the ability to choose. And took my son out of the private HS I attended because their computer science Division was woefully inadequate compared to the public school he was zoned for.

I wouldn't necessarily go that far, and the failings extend to all political persuasions.
I did, and I realize that, in several ways, it did not serve me well.
