Farpoint in the Mirror Universe. How does that play out? Or does Q do something else with them? Or just not bother?
I'm thinking Q doesn't bother. And there is no Farpoint, as by that point in the Mirror Universe the Terran Empire had essentially collapsed
It strikes me that (Section 31 aside) this is now the longest we've been without a theatrical Star Trek release since they started.
What hip animal would the crew go back in time for in a movie released today? Black rhinos? Snow leopards? Axolotls?
Catch 'em all, like Pokemon. Dodos, Scarabs, Passenger Pigeons, Golden Toads, those giant oysters that got gobbled up in the 19th century before they could even be named.
VOY "Innocence". The song Tuvok sings is quite lovely. Very Lord Of The Rings-ish. In another episode, Neelix said all he could find in the database for Vulcan songs were gloomy ones. Lying fucking prick.
Nichelle Nichols Space Camp for Teen Girls to Open in 2026, Honoring Late Star Trek Icon's Legacy (Exclusive)
There's an out: There could be millions of upbeat Vulcan songs, but Neelix's incompetence could miss them all.
"Tuvix". Two goddamned episodes! Two goddamned episodes later, Neelix razzes Tuvok with the "oh starless night of boundless blaaack!" song. I could see if it was on opposite ends of the whole series, and they just forgot. But two episodes? Kee-rist!
You think that's bad? On DS9 they did a three-parter where they had to go to a prison planet to rescue a Bajorian leader whom the Cardassians claimed was dead. They have to land on the planet and find the guy, because the runabouts can't transport three people at one time. In the third episode, they used the runabout's transporters to beam three people at the same time. They forgot the very fucking premise they used to start the three-parter when it came time to wrap it up.
It wasn't JUST that they couldn't beam more than two at a time, just they couldn't beam enough without alerting the Cardassians... but I'll allow it. The forcefield line alone could have resolved the issue - just say they can't beam through it.
Having re-watched most of Voyager recently (before hitting the slog of season 6 and then got sucked into watching My Hero Academia and writing yaoi fanfic for that instead), there is surprisingly more continuity than I was expecting in the oddest of places. Paris's knowledge of Mars exploration mentioned in "11:59" is brought up in "One Small Step," for instance. But then when they do drop canon, its in glaringly annoying ways like this. Like when we know Janeway spent three weeks in Resolutions but has seemingly forgotten this when Paris freaks out in "One."
