People who know you will know your gratitude is rooted in humility. It is okay to accept being appreciated.
I'm actually curious with your issue with Shoe, considering she strikes me as left-of-center. If it's her very sarcastic delivery and analysis, I can understand that.
If anything I would think reading Nova's posts over the last couple decades would convince most reasonable people that being transgender is a real thing and not just "playing make-believe," or something naive children get brainwashed into by tiktok.
I respect Nova as a poster. That's a status that UA and FF lost a long time ago (and you have to work at it to lose my respect).
My first encounter with The Dead was the MTV Video Touch of Grey. I was a kid. I loved them from that point. It had nothing to do with politics, I just liked the music. I've liked them ever since. Sue me because I'm able to separate the artist from the politics.
so the fact here is that you're the partisan hack who failed to get that transcendent message. well, except for getting drunk with 14 year olds. You seem okay with that.
That is the supposed lean she has. That is the image she wants to portray while she does the edgelord thing every other major pretend leftie looking to get INCEL viewers does. The only difference between her and a Tim Pool pretending he is a libertarian leftie truth teller is she does it from the female angle. Shoe is the token that a person like UA uses to pretend he is not that toxic because he has a pink haired screechbag who he thinks is cool. She is like a Bill Maher of influencers if Bill had to do what he does as a woman. Give her a penis and a bald head with a beanie on it and she would be Tim Pool.
Except you have said that. You have advocated for teachers not being allowed in a classroom if they are "shoving their beliefs down kids throats", which to you means acknowledging their own status as an LGBT person.
Well, now, maybe he means they should be paid to sit in the teacher's lounge playing Candy Crush. He supposedly doesn't want them fired, so that's what it has to mean.
Well by all means then, enlighten us on what it means, if it isn't the most obvious interpretation of your typically vague bloviating.
A teacher "not allowed in the classroom" isn't a teacher. Unless you want them giving gym-atorium lectures on trans rights. Safe to assume it ain't that.
Crosis already elaborated on this. However if you want to confirm now that we are wrong, and a teacher who says it's ok to be gay or trans doesn't deserve disciplinary action up to and including termination, then I'll happily rescind the remark as being a misunderstanding of your prior statements.
Another reason why you can't count on capitalists to protect your rights. I'm glad you agree.* *I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you aren't so stupid that you don't realize it is an either/or option.
No. That's how we get homeschooled kids who think the earth is flat and astronomy is of the devil. It's how we get kids terrified of their parents because they can't see themselves in media and they have no one to turn to. It's only "exactly so" if you're privileged enough not to have to care. For anyone else, it does matter, and it's Disney copping out. Gay kids exist. Trans kids exist. You don't have to care, but I do, and so do millions of others who are tired of mediocre cisgender, heterosexual white men telling people what they can and can't see in media because it makes them uncomfortable.
And that's why I'm glad Fat Albert didn't exist. Black people existing is a sensitive subject, and my parents needed to warm me up to the idea slowly and carefully. If I were exposed to Fat Albert right off, I might have had a seizure or something. Jesus, can you imagine if Gordon and Maria had been on Sesame Street? I'd be a skin-eating maniac. Boy, am I glad that didn't happen.
Honestly, I agree with you. There are people who genuinely have this issue and they're not to be picked on. Not to be confused with that drug-addled clown doing his best Max Klinger impression. He's really fucked up.
Yes. End of story Well I guess at the end of the day if you wade through this nonsense at least you hit your daily quota of "privileged" and "white men" Well done
End of your story. Your limited story. Well, there are a lot of privileged, cisgender heterosexual white men who fuck with a lot of people. Calling them out even once a day isn't enough, but I do what I can. Not all of us can be a forum dingleberry hoping to be noticed for being above it all, Bill.
I hate to say this, but for companies like Disney it's never been about what's right. It's about profit margins. And it cuts both ways. In my book, for instance, one of the villains casually used the word "nigger" to refer to one of the protagonists. My editor asked me to take it out, because they were worried about the optics of a non-Black person using that word. I guess it's only okay if you're Quentin Tarantino. So instead, the meth dealer from 1997 rural West Virginia called him "Black", because he may be a ruthless killer, but he won't use that word You want a trans story? Right now, you're only going to get that from smaller media groups. Definitely not Disney. Not any time soon.
Oh, I agree. In the trans community, though, it comes up often that we should be thankful for these big corporations, and a bunch of us have to say, repeatedly, endlessly, that these corporations only care for the bottom line. We are disposable.
Sorry, no. The story is that in the real world - not your tiny little internet corner - if you tell parents that you think you know better than them when it comes to their kids, you will lose pretty much every single time This is not just a white thing either, so I hope that doesn't break your brain
No, see, it's you telling the kids that they have no choice but to suppress who they are, and you have no stakes in any of this except to poke at people who really don't need your useless bullshit. Thanks for talking about "your tiny little internet corner" on a message board of which you can quite often be found posting. You're cool, though, Bill, with that awesome flippant dismissal you carry around with you. You sure are putting the trans people in their place.
That you can be counted on to deny kids their voices because it makes you uncomfortable that they know about their bodies without your influence? Yeah, there's a lot of men like that, sadly.
