We could all heal all the Saint Jude kids with energy from our hands, and he'd still throw beer cans and batteries.
This pretense that his respect is winnable is his biggest lie.

Again, former bench jeweller here. Not overly impressed.

ANd yeah, that is a far more complete description than the previous "makes the spring frames for school bus seats" that you'd volunteered before. Maybe the problem is actually your memory and not the shit search function or my own recollections? It'd explain why you're so reactive and given to such angry responses.

Strain yourself and try to imagine doing something without regard for who is impressed.

    Never happened.

I can't help it if I have way more than a passing knowledge of working with the same sort of materials and processes, but at a much smaller scale.

Yeah it did happen. I'd have imagined something far more interesting if I were making shit up.

You often go to this sort of attack on my mental capacity and well being... I'm trying to figure out what you base it on (other than deflecting from your own misremembrance)?

There is no way I said anything about frames for bus seats, because I have never DONE anything like that. It being a product of your faulty memory is the more charitable explanation.

Sure there is. You may have been lying at the time or lying now. But that wouldn't be my first nor my final answer.

Most likely you were being flippant, understating what your workplace makes and your role.

Even with that impressive list of minutia though, it's not really anything that doesn't apply in any manufacturing scenario. I could apply 90% of it to anything from the aforementioned bench jewellery to building billiard tables and custom cabinetry to grinding/extruding plastics that I've done over the past 35 years.

Speaking of memory... do you recall why how you make your living has become such a focus?

    Nooo...because you consistently:
    A) Disparage higher education
    B) Whine about how taxes are spent, and
    C) Make a point of placing your job on a higher pedestal than @Diacanu or @Spaceturkey

    Or yours.
His posts in the writer's strike thread show he has contempt for human artistic endeavor.
And all it took was a little "woke".
Grey wanted to be called "they" so now computers have to write scripts.

I disparage useless education and the useless people it produces. Not to be confused with ALL.

I've never stayed or implied my job was better than Spacetard's. That would be subjective.

Dicknuckles would have to GET job first. And yes, I do happen to believe that supporting yourself is better than NOT supporting yourself, but that's not unique to anyone.

That's what makes you an asshole. There is no such thing as useless education, or a useless person. Those are fantasy qualifications you create to massage your own ego.
And you do imply your job is better than Spaceturkey's as your diaper and drug addict comments indicate.

That "useless education" horseshit trickles straight down from Dennis fucking Prager.
Nothing like a rich, privileged, educated, pampered dickwad telling the poor to despise education.
Nothing suss about that at all.
Ignore the man behind the curtain.

I don't know who Dennis Prager is, but I do know that the people criticizing the "educated elite" are the same ones that went to Yale, Harvard, Princeton, etc (DeSantis, Vance, Cotton, Cruz, Hawley). It's also not hard to spot the ones that didn't get an education (Hi Lauren Boebert!)

Long time talk-radio douche going back to the 80's; branched into Youtube; channel called "PragerU" as in university, as in watch his cartoon powerpoint presentations instead of school.
They started free market fundamentalist and has since gone full MAGA.
Always attacked higher learning. Also believes in the literal Devil, and thinks morality can't do without him.
MAGA politicians have succeeded in shoving his shit into public schools.

This is the idea that education is worth exactly how much money you earn as a direct result? Fuck that.

Many people, including my parents, have also tried to quantify it by how much money you can make with it. Like am investment. While that makes logical sense, especially for certain career- oriented people (like my parents), I've always disagreed with that notion as well.

meh-I've done enough stuff that parallels his job. I doubt he could do mine.

I don't get what he's on about with diapers (other than a tragic lack of understanding about human aging, maybe?)

It's not my fault that the weed here is better than what he's getting. Otherwise he's just gaslighting because other than a bit of weekend cocaine use when I was a partner/bar manager, that's my only 'drug' habit.

My understanding of D's life is he does for his family and community what pays between 45-75K here. On top of that, by staying in buttfuck nowhere he's indirectly helping keep a rural community on life support until the young'uns start returning to revitalize it-but that's a long and esoteric topic of itself with a bunch of Jane Jacobs references.

And it's not costing the taxpayers a cent.

On the other hand, I've never been clear on why he's mad at me? I've never been totally unemployed, and have indeed just made myself a job when I couldn't find one. Maybe it's that I'm living a better version of the ideals he holds himself to?

heh-my industrial design education never got me an office job, let alone a decent wage.

the capacity for empathy, however, nets me union pay and 8 weeks + stats paid.
