I understand that you believe what you're saying. I also understand that the vast majority of people, asked privately, understand the difference between men and women. They also understand that some people have issues. It is what it is.
great... and you understand that the vast majority of biologists and mental health professionals when asked will tell you there's more to sex and gender than a simple binary you learned in grade school? you'd further come to understand that, among the latter, it's understood that most of those "issues" (not related to inherent gender identity) are a result of external influences. Should a brain conform to a body or should the body conform to the brain? In the interest of medical ethics, which do you favour altering?
Hello? Hello? Does anyone hear me? @steve2^4 has "volunteered" to channel me as I find myself unable to talk. I probably should not have annoyed the nurse. In answer to @Spaceturkey's query on body conformation to the brain, I can testify once you're dead it makes no difference. Souls don't have gender. There is no sex in heaven. Thank God I'm in the other place.
@DEI Hire wants to be included in @Ten Lubak's little too long could not raise it circle jerk. I know from experience both of them cannot get it up. They will be happy in heaven.
I understand that transgenderism was declassified in various countries under pressure from the WHO and other organizations. What was universally considered a mental disorder suddenly and magically was not. Probably just one of the reasons the US pulled out of the WHO. Again, the vast majority of people simply don't believe this. They understand the difference between men and women both physically and inherently, and they believe transgender folks have a mental disorder. I'm among them. I understand you're not.
It was declassified from the DSM-5, too. What the vast majority (you claim) believe doesn't really matter, and the question remains... is it preferable to alter the body or the mind to get them aligned?
Gender ROLES are a social construct. What we process mentally as "gender" is heavily interdependent on a given society's gender roles and in THAT sense, it's a social construct - but one created by those with the power to define and enforce gender roles. But you know what else is a social construct? Religion. Yet we don't see these bozos trying to tear THAT down - after all, they need it to enforce gender roles.
seems relevant the usual big surprise that the right wing "concerns" about children and "genital mutilation" are based on nothing close to factual. Or are we about to outlaw boob jobs?
Genital surgeries on minors for transition are effectively non-existent in the U.S. In some jurisdictions (Germany for example) the age of majority for medical decisions is 16 but if you're not legally a minor then in context it's the same thing. To the extent someone might be able to produce an anecdote there are always some extenuating circumstance. Top surgery - whether enhancement or reduction - is in 10 of 11 cases done on cis minors. I've got the link/photo somewhere in my Facebook past but it's not exactly searchable
I have been asked to relate that @Tererune has been restless, and will haunt UA if he continues to shit on her memorial thread. That is all.
So is what book you read. Or what a company charges for a truck. But you are happy to take away that choice when you disagree with it.
No the fuck I am not. There is no requirement that you be shielded from the consequences to qualify for having a choice.
Glad you agree you agree there no requirement you be shielded from the consequences of children having access to 1984.
