Denmark has granted Ukraine’s Fire Point permission to build a solid rocket fuel plant near Skrydstrup Air Base, bypassing over 20 regulatory hurdles. This marks Ukraine’s first defense production facility on NATO soil. Launch set for December.

That seems like a pretty good idea. Also brave of Denmark. Will have to be a huge target for Russian sabotage.

    Likely for this big boy:

The image above is not from the AP, so take what you will from it. But here is the AP story that first broke it (good read):

    And Archive:

Oh, interesting it looks like the archived version is missing this part:

The company completed testing this year for its first cruise missile, the FP-5. Capable of traveling 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles) and landing within 14 meters (45 feet) of its target, the FP-5 is one of the largest such missile in the world, delivering a payload of 1,150 kilograms (2,535 pounds), independent experts said.

Fire Point is producing roughly one Flamingo per day, and by October they hope to build capacity to make seven per day, Terekh said.

Even as Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian officials pursue ways to end the war, Terekh said she is skeptical that Russia will accept terms for a real peace. “We are preparing for a bigger, much scarier war.”

Polish FM Radosław Sikorski is calling for serious consideration of a no-fly zone over Ukraine, suggesting NATO and the EU intercept Russian drones and missiles before they reach allied airspace. “Technically, we can do it, but it must be a joint decision with allies,” he told FAZ.

Reuters: Russia may be forced to cut oil output after a wave of Ukrainian drone strikes on export ports and refineries. Pipeline giant Transneft, which handles over 80% of Russian crude, has warned producers of reduced storage capacity in its system.

Good. Hopefully their new missile systems come on line soon and do even more damage.

Good high level discussion on Net Assessment this week.

    https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/net-assessment/id1437812041?i=1000727355981

Chris, Zack, and Melanie take some time to talk about how the United States, Europe, and Russia are dealing with the Ukraine conflict. Would a Russian win in a war which is costing billions of dollars, killing hundreds of thousands of Russians, and reinforcing Moscow's junior partner status to China only be a pyrrhic victory? Does Russia hold a winning hand because it seems to be willing to take on greater risk than Europe and the United States? Was the passive American reaction to the Russian drone incursion into Poland a sign that the US is done providing security commitments to Europe? Have European governments reached a consensus on whether a sovereign Ukraine is worth a military fight with Russia?

I'm not sure why that would not be desirable.
It would be nice to see the west unite to fully oppose both Russia and Israel, I would think.

Every time escalation is discussed, the risk of nuclear war is highlighted so I don't see how you could be unsure what the objection might be.

Aside from that, if the commission of war crimes justifies "crushing" anyone, are others justified in crushing your country?

The spectre of nuclear war is what has allowed Russia to act with impunity and commit its own litany of war crimes.
If we're going to cower in the face of that, why even bother making a show of anything? Do you think it would make a difference to Putin whether we're defending Ukraine or Poland? He sends fighter jets into Romania because he thinks we will be too scared of nuclear war to push back.
As for crushing MY country? If the USA decided to follow through on its threats to Greenland or Panama, yeah, I'd expect other countries to crush us. And I hope they would.

This isn't a binary choice - I haven't advocated cowering. I am highlighting that escalation brings with it a risk of nuclear war. The fact that Putin leverages that risk doesn't change the fact that it exists or mean that it's a good idea to ignore it.

You know that they wouldn't. The US both makes and follows through on similar threats all of the time, including being responsible for the Israeli actions that you're now decrying. But you have a bad case of main character syndrome here. Your starting point is to regard "the west" as the protagonist, and it doesn't appear to occur to you when discussing Russia that any moral consistency should apply.
