It would be even more efficient to move Paris and put it right next to Los Angeles, then no one would have to fly, they could just drive or maybe even walk. Yeah, yeah, I know, moving a whole city to the other side of the planet would be expensive, then it occurred to me: everyone flies to airports, so we really just need to move the airport. In fact, we should just move all the airports so they're right next to each other. We could get rid of all the planes and just use the shuttle busses. I know what you're thinking: If all the airports are in the same place, say, Kansas or something, how does everyone get to the airport in the first place if they're nowhere near Kansas or something? Here's the genius part: we pass laws saying that travel time to the airports from a given location have to remain the same. Like, Google maps says DTW is a 27 minute drive, so we make a law that says drive time from my location to DTW cannot legally take more than, say 45 minutes. That'll work no matter where they put it.
