Finally watched the finale, pretty decent Didn't expect Neuman to go out like that, that was pretty wild Sister Sage is pretty savage Can't wait to see what the compound V did to Ashley Soldier Boy! Overall not the best season on record but definitely pretty good
Hopefully next season will not be during an election year and they won’t have deplorable caricatures of caricatures.
The best thing about this season, IMO, was Sister Sage (when uninjured) - the absolute contempt she has for the intelligence of everyone else, and how naked she is with it, is a lot of fun. OTOH, the whole "injure my brain and I turn into a world-class slut idiot" was...cringy.
Agreed. And to add to my like of the character and dislike of the "injure my brain and I turn into a world-class slut idiot", she looks just like my boss from a couple years ago. I’d show a pic, but …. Well … I know the pic is already on the internet. The person who took it posted it on the “AbbVie gives back” part of AbbVie’s website. But, it is personal and there are others in the pic that may not wish to have their pic here.
More like "injure my brain and I can tolerate other humans just long enough to indulge my desires and not feel like I'm committing bestiality."
Agreed on all points. I think last season better, but not bad and there's no redemption for any of the villain characters, including Butcher.
The Boys need Butcher beyond redemption becuase it’s likely going to take take truly awful things to defeat Homelander (and Soldier Boy)
Well if any character was going to be bisexual it was going to be the French one That just seemed like filler though, like the Huey dad and mom thing and the Kimiko human trafficking arc - side stories that ultimately went nowhere
It seems like some writers these days are more concerned with pissing off the the fan base rather than tell compelling stories and the show suffers as a result. You shouldn’t have filler in an eight episode season.
I doubt one of the main motivations of the writers is to "piss off the fanbase". If you're pissed off at a television show then that's on you It could be something as simple as they just don't have enough good, storyline related ideas to work with With only 8 episodes to work with though I do agree there should be little to no filler - the other seasons of the Boys definitely didn't have as much as S4
It's called bisexual. And why would you care if he was fucking a guy or a woman? It literally makes zero difference to the plot.
It’s just a weird trend I’ve been seeing lately in Hollywood where a character suddenly is in a relationship with someone that goes nowhere story wise. It’s just an observation.
No, that's been a thing for a long time. How many of Kirk's relationships ever lasted past a single episode? Or Picard's?
This is the kind of shit that says “I’m federal farmer and I am incapable of thinking for myself”. Literally EVERY tv show prior to DS9 was episodic. Hell, even Gilligan’s Island - 7 people who cannot get off the island, have had episodic relationships with people who could easily get on and off the island. I mean …., were you hoping to fantasize about Frenchie and you’re upset because someone beat you to it?
Hell, he might not actually be French in the source material - when stressed, he reverts to British phrases like "wanker".
That’s what I’m trying to get to. Why is it weird? I would think it would be weird if he hooked up with … a dog or … a monkey. That would be weird.
I will be the first to say that the Frenchie/Colin subplot was not executed particularly well because a) the notion of Frenchie having happened to kill Colin's family seems contrived b) the notion of Frenchie not making the connection until he did the way we are shown he did seems a stretch c) it seems like there would have to be a far greater age difference between Frenchie and Colin than there seemed to be for Colin to have been young/small enough to hide under a bed d) the notion that Colin would fall in love with Frenchie and not seemingly have much in the way of issues with Frenchie being the murderer of his family beyond breaking it off is hard to swallow and most of all e) up until this season Frenchie was in love with Kimiko and there seemed to be no reason for him to seek another love interest even if Kimiko suggested it. That said, those are all issues that would have remained if Colin had been Colleen and they engaged in the same subplot.
