Trump now telling Republicans to vote to release the files. I'm getting conspiracy minded in my old age and wonder if this means that Bondi managed to finish redacting the files of any Trump references.
it's the new "investigation" maneuver. Everyone can vote for it and he can sign it but, oh WOOPS - can't release material related to an ongoing investigation! Thems the breaks!

Yes. Why isn’t the party out of power in the Executive, the Legislative and Judicial branches being more transparent? Why aren’t they releasing the documents they don’t have control of?
The vote isn’t to authorize the release of the Trump-Epstein Files but to compel their release. The DOJ has been able to release them at any time since they were unlocked last year.
According to the Washington Post, @StaceyPlaskett appears to have been texting with Jeffrey Epstein during this 2019 hearing. Here's the part of their video where they “matched up the texts, which were sent in Pacific Time, with the video.” She's the Rep for the US Virgin Islands and got campaign contributions from Epstein.

Oh and the House just voted 427:1 for the release of the Epstein files The lone nope was Clay Higgins I wonder if he's like "you all told me you were going to vote no!" or is just an asshole that believes sex traffickers should be protected
I'm assuming that the about-face on this by Trump and his cronies means that a number of critical pages have been "lost" and/or a few people have been murdered. And I'm literally the last guy to believe any conspiracy theory.
Greed and power. Yeah, every country has to deal with greed and power, but the US is built on the idea that some people deserve as much money and power as they can grab before they die, and that everyone has to shut up and suck it up. That is the heart of how our system works. The person who has the gold (or the promise of gold) makes the rules. We are a severely defective nation, a third world nation with a sect of wealthy individualists who have deep insecurities and have made it everyone else's problem.
Yeah I got the exact same feeling - the files are now probably going to be heavily redacted because they're "classified" or some nonsense or some of it has disappeared altogether
