Personally, I think it's the remastered episodes from... what?...2007? The reason I say that is because I haven't heard of any additional remastering of the series, so I suspect they're releasing that remastered version in place of the highly dated 1960s originals. I'm fine with that, even though the remasters are starting to really look outdated. I'm long tired of explaining to younger people why the originals SFX look like dogshit.
Yeah, the redone VFX were...okay...for the early 2000s, but they don't look so good these days. H&I ran "The Galileo Seven" the other night and while the departure scene was an improvement over the original miniature effect, the look and textures of the CGI looked really crude.
Hollywood needs to accept that SFX always have the shelf life of hot dog buns, and to just leave them alone at a certain point.
