Trumpite Americans, when will you finally acknowledge your leader is a joke?

Honestly, how old is Donald J. Trump?

Is there some kind of test that can show his relative mental age? Because I'm guessing the result would show he's barely past kindergarten.

"Yeah, you can be outraged but it's not going to do any good. Anybody who has not recognized what the President is by this point in the game, they're not going to."

    :techman:

Again, the problem isn't Trump. It's his core supporters who either (a) recognize exactly who he is; or (b) are oblivious to who he is. Regardless, they are a problem. And they're not going away if you kick Trump out of office later this year.

Yeah. I have to admit that the blatant national socialist symbolism still took me by surprise. I did not realise we had gotten to the point where they could do that without any major backlash.

So, with the first two words of that tweet, the President of the United States of America has outright admitted that he disagrees with the First Amendment.

The President of the United States of America.

Who took an oath to uphold the Constitution.

    Yup.

You're right, but if we are going to find that remarkable in the least, does that mean that we have already started to ignore that this is the man who just showed clear and deliberate allegiance to national socialism? I'm seriously asking, because I don't know whet to do with that. After this, what's next?

This very tweet is already very ugly.

The President of the United States (at least, the PINO who is supposed to be...) has threatened violence against people who exercise their First-Amendment rights by daring to protest him. Think about that. That is very clearly third-world dictator territory.

If ever the gun-toters who claim that the primary reason to oppose any and all limitations to the right to bear arms because they need to be able to stand up to tyranny were going to do it, now is the time. If they don't they are either liars or cowards or hypocrites. Or all three.

Absolutely, but let me ask you the same question. And I'm really asking, because I literally could hardly sleep last night. Are we going to ignore that the President of the United States of America just clearly signaled allegiance to national socialism? Because I sincerely don't know what to do with that. It certainly seems to make it moot to discuss whether he's backing the First Amendment or not. Again, after this, what's next?

As low an opinion as I have of Donald Trump, I must admit that that astounded even me.

There is no possible way that 88 posts with a nazi symbol for enemies of the state is innocent. If it had been 1 or 2, I could have thought it was just some ignorant person who had no idea what it meant. If it was 150, I could say whoever was behind it thought it was cute and wanted to do it over and over again.

But 88? We're talking coincidences of ridiculous proportions here. It was obviously a coded message to the extreme-right, white-supremacist, neo-nazi groups. Whoever was behind it knew very well that they would identify the meaning of both those symbols without any problem. (And naively assumed no one else would, or would notice the two of them together.) It was a nod-nod-wink-wink way of saying: "We can't say it openly, but we want you to know we're with you."

And that is absolutely astounding, even from Trump. It shows that he is not just bumbling, incompetent, self-centered and arrogant. He is actually evil.

And to all the Christians who let themselves be hoodwinked by his pretences at religion, his photo-ops with religious leaders praying over him in the Oval Office, and thinks he is actually "God's man", I refer them to 2 John, verses 10 and 11.

We can ignore it. We should, because it's a distraction intended to make liberals look silly - his base will buy the initial arguments and if you delve into the 88 ad buy thing, you look like a conspiracy theorist. He doesn't want you looking at his record on COVID, or race, or whatnot.

And you can fucking bet the GOP will ignore it.

Dicky, I like you, and I want to say this as gently as possible:

    It's not always about you.

You are not Donald Trump. Don't try to be.

Sorry to be so blunt, but that post was not helpful.

Fred Trump was a KKK-er, and taught Donnie-boy eugenics, and Donnie admitted his belief in eugenics right in a 60 Minutes interview.
I pointed this out, and said he was a Nazi in 2016.
I got hand waved away as a paranoid hysteric by the usual suspects.

    I don't know. I honestly don't know.

I fear that most Americans will ignore it. The "rah-rah-Donald Trump is a great leader" will simply bury their heads in the sand and refuse to believe it, for one thing. That is, unfortunately, about one-third of the American electorate. And a lot of the others won't understand the significance, because they don't know what it means.

I admit I didn't know what it meant myself. But my wife is German, even though she grew up in Switzerland (and speaks "Züri Tüütsch" fluently...). Without giving her any context whatsoever, I asked her, "Do you know what an upside-down red triangle means?" And she answered, "Isn't that something the Nazis used in the concentration camps?"

But I live in Europe, and know a whole lot more about that horrible period than 99% of Americans. Most won't have any idea what it means. Most probably won't see the significance of the number 88, either. (That one, I did know ahead of time.) And if they can't put two and two together, then they are even less able to put 88 and red triangles together.

I fear that there is little we can do. Making it known over social media is perhaps the only thing. Spelling out explicitly to those who don't see the significance of it just what it means. And making sure it isn't forgotten.

This is not at all on the same level as "inject disinfectant into the body". That was just one more demonstration of how abysmally stupid the "stable genius" in the White House actually is. But this is incomparably worse.

And I shudder to think what could happen if the most powerful nation in the whole world actually goes down the road that those messages indicate. It makes 1933 seem like a pic-nic.

Who is his base, at this point?

I'm not disagreeing with most of what you're saying; the only thing I am unsure of is whether it is right to ignore this. I agree that a lot of people on the right won't see this for what it is. But this is set apart from the usual dog-whistle, for which liberals recognize racism, while racists see nothing. This is different. This is a message mostly directed at those who recognize the code. And while some on the left do, the primary group that recognizes that code are national socialists. That's who the message is directed at.

Yes, plus the sentence runs to 14 words, which is the third part of neo-national socialist coding.
