Supposedly this arms deal is meant to combat ISIS but who really believes the Sauds have any interest in that? ISIS is their best weapon against Iran. And their continued existence keeps our military industrial complex going strong. What's the motive to get rid of them? They are our justification for being involved in Middle Eastern affairs.

Good. Money is money and Obama was wrong to with hold regular sales like this over Yemen. It made the US look like an unreliable supplier. Frankly, we should be selling to anyone who wants to buy who is not an enemy. Once they have US equipment they tend to stick with it for decades so that makes them a long term export market for US industry. The Saudis have been requesting to this for three or four years but Obama dragged his feet. That shouldn't have happened.
Most of them will be used in Yemen but, yes, the Saudis pass a fair amount to rebel groups in Syria some of which eventually ends up with ISIS. Not a lot though.

The Saudis are actually pissing through most of their stockpiles in Yemen and with deliveries to rebels in Syria. Yes, they need more and they are willing to pay in cold hard cash. So it is win-win as far as US workers are concerned. If we did not sell it to them then they would just buy from someone else.

While this kind of thing makes me want to puke, I don't see what would be gained by doing one deal less. If we don't want to sell weapons, make a law against it. 'Legal but let's not be too good at it' isn't a policy as much as a bad conscience.

That is the best way to deal with this but it requires nations of the region to step up and intigrate the legitimate refugees. Something many of them have simply refused to do.
