What Are You Eating?

At Taco Bell right now between my route and an hour on a walking route, need the energy, and to wage war on my toilet bowl when I get home

You should get this. I'll get it once in a while, about once or twice a year, when I'm feeling extra hungry.

Used an Asian-style marinade on some boneless pork ribs.







Finished with a honey sriracha glaze.

Around here they're called country ribs, those look good.

That's what they call them here, bone-in or boneless.

when I was young, I didn't like ribs because, in my opinion, they were too much work for too little payoff. kinda like oranges.

However, once I discovered boneless ribs, i've been a fan ever since.

no one can make bbq boneless shortribs like I can. Well, like I could. back in the day. I don't cook much anymore.

I demand short ribs!!!

My wife picked up some Costco ribeyes.

I find the quality of Kirkland beef to be very good

I fixed a DiGiorno "Carnivore" thin crust pizza for myself and dad this evening. Oh my god, it was so good! We have a local pizza chain around here called Cassanos, and they make very thin crust pizzas but they charge an arm and a leg for them, and the DiGiorno pizza tasted just like them. I like thin crust, but I'm picky. It can't be a cracker crust like Dominos does their thin crusts, it has to have some moisture in it. I can't eat Pizza Hut because their crust makes me sick (one of their executives once told me on Twitter that they did put sugar in the crust and claimed that's what makes it delicious). Little Caesar's is great trash pizza but sometimes I just can't eat it, and so frozen pizzas are usually my pizza of choice, especially because for $5 you can just take it home and bake it yourself and it feeds two people.

I wish I'd have taken a picture of it because damn did it look good coming out of the oven, but ah well, it was still delicious.

Every now and then my wife and I will get Marco's thin crust pizza because we like how it's like a cracker. It literally crunches when it's fresh.

That's the only way I'll eat it, too. I've had their pizza on other crust thicknesses and it's just not very good. At least the cracker crust puts most of the focus on the toppings.

Marco's is really good. Their deluxe is fantastic.

Went to one of the breweries around here, they have a BBQ place as well. Grabbed some BBQ to go with the beers.

Felt like having some Weißwurst, picked some up at the store then decided to get some bratwurst and some andouille sausage along with the Weißwurst. Which needed baked beans and potato salad and of course beer.



The potato salad is homemade.

For dinner tonight I fixed pork chops, red skin potatoes, and steamed broccoli with butter.
The drink is a diet Frostie's root beer.

Tonight I fixed salisbury steaks, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, and some buttered rolls. It, uh, sounds better than it tasted. The potatoes and rolls were good, but canned mixed veggies don't seem to come out as good as I like even when I season them. The salisbury steaks were so thin I could almost read through them, but it was dinner! We ate, and that's good enough. I'm making up for it by fixing tacos tomorrow.

I had to run an errand near that one burger place so I stopped in for the first time in several weeks.



I hadn't made a photo in several previous visits because it's hard to come up with a different composition than that one due to the food being served in plastic baskets. Not really any other option than to shoot over/through the fries. But when I saw the cheese I figured I'd do another one.

Flew to Huntsville today to drive down my daughter's old car (which will be my son's NEW car now that she bought her own). Staying someplace called the Village of Providence and had lunch at Cajun Roux.


Gumbo, canard couchon, and Gator bites. So good. I'm going back with my girls tonight for dinner.

I fixed breaded chicken patty sandwiches with swiss cheese, tomato, and buttermilk ranch dressing, some steak fries, and german style pickles.

I don’t care for ranch dressing on salads but it’s great with fries and on sandwiches.

Yes! I don't get McDonalds anywhere near as much as I used to, but when I do get to go, I get their chicken sandwich with ranch in place of mayo, with a few slices of bacon and tomato on it, and it's fantastic. So I decided to make an attempt here, and I really liked the result.

Made some potatoes dauphinoise the other day, damn those turned out well:
