Re: PA university students upset over mandatory fitness class

And this is why I finished my degree on-line. I fucked around and wasted my college years. When I did decide to finish, I was at a point in my life where I had a career and a family. I didn't have the time or desire to take all the other bullshit Auburn required of me, so I went elsewhere, got just what I needed, and now I'm done with it.

I'm paying you to grade my work and nothing more. I'll worry about my physical, mental, and spiritual health fuckyouverymuch.

You do know even non-profit organizations need to break even to stay in business?

Nevertheless, I think there can be a school that's in between the Nanny State like this proposes and a tech school where you get in and get out.

Unless they're literally being ordered to eat at gunpoint, no one is being forced into anything.

What happened to personal responsibility? Or is that only important when it involves something you've never personally had to deal with?
And how exactly does that happen if the kids are living in dorms? Last time I checked, there's not much space in a dorm room for freezers for the kids to stock up on Healthy Choices to eat right.

College food sucks. One of my classmates that lived in the dorms told me the pizza they'd serve would literally drip a puddle of grease onto her plate when she held it up for a few minutes. If they're concerned about the kids' well being, they can at least help the ones out that have few options but cafeteria food by providing more salads and more lean meal options like baked chicken and fish.

Jamey Whistler agrees: Not as though Ray would know a whole lot about college.

Jamey Whistler agrees: Not as though Ray would know a whole lot about college.

Now if you asked him about Elementary Schools you'd be talking to an expert....

I agree with you on this.
Why? Why is physical education not the province of a university?
Why would it be?

Why would someone with an EE with emphasis on semiconductor design (for example) need to be able to do 100 situps?
Because the Board of Regents of the college said so.
And theirs is the ruling opinion.

Re: PA university students upset over mandatory fitness class

Just to put this in perspective, in order to have a BMI of 30, a 5'5" woman would have to weigh 180 pounds.

Personally, I think no one should graduate from junior high without some sense of nutrition and how to live a healthy lifestyle, but that's just me.

Anna agrees: No argument on that last point.

I believe that you'll find that it is I, who chooses not to spend my money on this school, who has the final ruling.

Your key phrase is "no one" Meaning that ALL would have to take the class. Not just the "fatties" or the "skeletons"

From Maxine: I have been informed that the Islamic terrorists, who hate our guts and want to kill us, do not like to be called "Towel Heads" since the item they wear on their heads is not actually a towel but a small folded sheet. Therefore, from this point forward, please refer to them as "Little Sheet Heads." Thank you for your support.
