I don't see anything on that birth certificate which justifies having waited so long to release it. Was he just playing with people? I never gave the slightest credence to the "He's not eligible to be President" nonsense but I figured there was some reason for which he didn't want to release it, but there really doesn't appear to be any.

He should have never released his birth certificate the first time around in 2008. He should have just pointed to the newspaper articles announcing his birth, told the stupid people to fuck off and prove otherwise.

Of course he was playing with people.

He gave up the short form thinking it would be ok but then a bunch of dummies on the right went, "He's not American!!"

Of course he played them for two fucking years making them and the rest of the right in this country look stupid in the process.

I think though that it slightly backfired on him that he kept doing it for so long that even people on the left (not the hardcore left) were starting to wonder.

That is about the only explanation I can see at this point that makes any sense. And even it doesn't make very much sense.

And Trump just stole credit for "forcing" Obama to release the form.

Trump, for good or ill, does get the credit for the release, IMO. There's no way I'd support him but his antics put enough pressure on the president that he had to ask HI to release the document. The good of it is that maybe Obama will shut up about saying that his opponents are trying to distract from the real work he has to "do" and actually do some of it now.
